doughty looked lost. whats wrong with landry anyway. i saw him in an interview during of the preseason games......he is a monster. swole.....all he did in the long offseason was lift weights.Comment

Anyway, hope some of you guys are around watching the game today. Defense looks well, Hightower is running well but Grossman has thrown two picks and has been under pressure all day. Shanahan needs to start utilizing the speed at receiver to get some screens going to ease that pressure off.Comment

my FOX has the fucking Sea vs Steelers game on. What the Fuck. Steelers are suppose to be on CBS, two NFC teams playing and they arent on in the market. FUck FoxComment

I know there hasn't been much discussion on the season, but the whispers here are getting louder about Shanahan potentially being out at the end of the season. I just wanted to see what you guys thought about that, as I know manchild and a few other Skins fans are lurking around here.
Needless to say, I'll be frustrated if that happened, so much that I would consider switching teams. We've already matched the win total that many thought we would have, and we discovered that we have no quarterback and we still need depth on the offensive line. The defense, overall, has performed well and our rookies are playing good, especially Kerrigan. Also, it seems like we finally have found a good kicker.
There are plenty of things I disagree with Shanahan about, but the team is turning a corner and it takes time to build a roster, especially the one that he was given.Comment

Shanahan has put together a shit team there is really no star on the team. Orakapo is the lone bright spot on the team but he's a LB. Fire Shanahan and get someone in that can build up a whole team.Comment

The problems are on offense. The offensive line was playing well before injuries hit, but the team has no depth and that was exposed. We all know that the there isn't a starting caliber quarterback on the team. The options in the passing game have been exposed as mediocre with Santana Moss out with injury and Anthony Armstrong regressed so far this year.
Some of that can be put on the focus on defense. The rest can be put on both Shanahans. I hate to say it, but Kyle needs to be out as the offensive coordinator. I know his father probably doesn't want to fire him, but reassign him elsewhere. He is not getting his job done. I'm happy giving Mike Shanahan another season, but we can't continue giving coaches a short leash, especially when he only kept a fifth of the roster from the previous year. If you commit to rebuilding, you need to follow through with it.Comment

we are the laughing stock of the league. Shanny said he is evaluating talent now, which means he's dialed it in. Then why not play HeluComment
-
I would........we already know what we have in Torain, give Helu a chance to do his thing. We gave him plenty of carries in the pre-season, he's already had a few touches here and there, so there isn't any reason not to.Comment

I think benching John Beck was a very stupid knee jerk reaction. Beck is a very inexperience QB so obviously it'll take him some time. He is more of a development/project type starting QB than a guy who's going to step right in and lead your offense to big yards. He has a stronger arm than Grossman, is way more mobile and has more upside and potential than Grossman. Not to mention he's the starting QB of an offense that was pretty mediocre to begin with without the losses of Santana Moss, Chris Cooley, Tim Hightower, Jamaal Brown, Trent Williams, and Kory Lichtenstieger (?). Am I missing anyone?
Bottom line: Rex Grossman blows.Comment

And you aren't missing anyone per se, but with Lichensteiger out, Montgomery is playing left guard and not in his natural postion at center, so that is four offensive line starters out of their position.Comment

our season was over when we lost Hightower, Moss or when Grossman got benched. Take your pick......
Beck might have had a chance if they started him from the beginning. Grossman has always sucked. we were lucky to win those 1st 3 games.
Grossman turned the ball over late in all those games too.
we have no running game, no need for good WRs since we cant throw the ball to any of them......and we simply cant rely on defense all game.
we need QB and HB.........3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complainingComment

I am happy that the team was able to overcome a horrid first quarter and come back later in the game, and with the final drive. Not happy with the way our last drive ended- we should have gotten closer. Some of that blame is with the offense, the rest is Gano, because he did have enough on that kick.
The Williams injury looked nasty though, and that is a huge blow to our already hobbled line.
I don't think Gano is out after this game, but I expect the Redskins to bring in some sort of competition this week just to try them out. His job isn't 100% safe by a long shot.
I'll have some other comments later when I have time.Comment
