      I pray to Tim Tebow.

It's all Tebow while the defense, special teams and rest of the offense go largely unnoticed.
When I say publicity, I mean the same type that Tebow gets for being the reason they win. Every Broncos game is so over-analyzed in the media. And the majority of it is "Look what Tim Tebow did" and almost every time there's the counterpoint of "It's not all Tim Tebow, the Broncos defense carried them" which almost always leads to high praise of Miller. Miller has gotten more credit for wins than half the QBs in the league because of the Tebow discussion run-off going on. He's one of the most talked about defenders in the entire NFL. To say that he's not getting due credit is a little silly at this point to be quite honest. Largely unnoticed is guys like Wesley Woodyard or DJ Williams or Rahim Moore.

I'd venture to guess that 60% of the time when Tebow is brought up on BSPN, Von Miller's name comes up shortly thereafter.

Any other QB and the story is mainly focusing on the defense forcing a critical turnover, only giving up 10 points and the kicker drilling two long field goals. Or the focus is on the Bears' collapse. But with Tebow you got the entire ESPN campus Tebowing for a week straight.

The shit is ridiculous and if you can't see it there's no point in discussing it any further.
The problem with Tebow is half the media and half the lemming fans that blindly follow the media. Just like with Brett Favre, the media machine picks out something they want to just beat the ever-loving shit out of. Only difference is Tebow isn't shamelessly throwing himself in the media spotlight. He's the same guy he was last year, only now more microphones are being shoved in his face and more people are oohing and aahing at everything that comes out. And then that gets replayed 50,000 times a day at Bristol and everyone gets supremely polarized about it. It's just a shame more people don't realize it's happening. It's all 'he's the greatest thing that ever happened'/'he's the most overrated thing that ever happened'. It completely obliterates any opportunity to have a true discussion about his play or the team.

John Skelton is not impressed by Tebow.

I couldn't agree more. We all saw what happened to Tebow when the Pats started scoring points -- he couldn't keep up. Only time that the Denver offense was able to keep up points for points, and not having it turn into a defensive battle, was against that STINGY Viking defense.

The turnaround for this Denver team has been some timely favorable turnovers and clutch defense when the game is on the line. Their defense was so brutal at the beginning of the year and has definitely started to come around.

Second, when Young was installed as the starter in Week 4, the team had just lost 13-10 to Miami, not 59-0.

Third, Young's first start was a 45-14 shellacking handed to them by a mediocre Dallas team.

Fourth, Young lost his first two starts, and 4 of his first 6 starts, which essentially eliminated the Titans from the playoffs.

Fifth, while the Titans did get hot at the end of the year after they had been eliminated from postseason play and ended up 8-8, Young's 8-5 record as a starter is a far cry from the 7-1 you suggested.

Sixth, Young was actually pretty terrible. He rarely threw the ball down the field (as evidenced by his meager 6.2 YPA), yet he still managed to throw 13 INTs and ended up with a 66.7 QB rating.
              Except no, not at all.

He was obviously referring to 2009, when VY took over the 0-6 Titans and led them to an 8-8 record, with his only losses coming to the Colts and Chargers.

              Everything he said was accurate.

The defense has been helped by Tebow though. They aren't a top rushing team without him, and I'd be willing to bet there's a sizeable difference in TOP with/without him. And turnovers. A ball-control offense with few TOs, helps the defense with less drives, less overall time of the field, which makes guys like Dumervil better because he's a pretty 1-dimensional guy. If the Broncos are down 20 points at half, he's going to have a smaller impact. If he's out there for 30 more snaps, he's likely less effective. I don't think it's just a coincidence or schedule factor that they were giving up like 24 points a game with Orton.

I do because the Cardinals turn around has little to do with him imo. They would have the same record had Kolb started all those games. As much as I dislike Tebow bringing up Skelton is a horrible comparison. He name needs to get out of this thread.

I guess its my bad, but I don't understand the point of comparing a four year starter like Vince Young was in 2009 to Tim Tebow starting for the first time in his career, so I didn't even factor it into my mind. Its not really similar. It would be like comparing Cam Newton's 2011 season to Dan Marino's 1984 season and saying "Whats the big deal about Newton?"

Also, Vince Young somehow again made the pro bowl that year in 2009 despite posting below-average passing numbers...so I don't understand how Young wasn't "hyped". And the main reason for the Titans turnaround was Chris Johnson rushing for over 2000 yards and catching passes for over 500 yards. Amazingly, Johnson had more rushing yards than Vince Young had passing yards in 2009.

So, mea culpa for me even assuming that Killa Pand/Based Pand/BOATANG could even attempt to make a relevant point.

It was hilarious watching you come into the chatbox this past weekend when the Chiefs were driving with ~5 mins to go and start chanting TEBOW TIME. It was clear you weren't watching the game.

Yeah, I was trying to troll you by posting about 15 NFL-related points. I didn't "ignore" what you said, I responded to it. Even now, when I was shown that your point was even MORE irrelevant than once thought, I STILL responded to your "point".

You've made numerous terrible points in this thread, and you've acted like a prick in doing so. Your terrible points weren't even reserved to Tim Tebow...you even managed to make some terrible "social commentary" points.

You were a terrible poster at MM, and you continue to be a terrible poster here. You aren't funny. You aren't smart. You bring no entertainment value to the table (other than BOATANG, of course).

Don't believe me? Then why is some schlep with a redundant user name like DoubleDeuce "white knighting" you?

I wasn't trying to "troll" you; I honestly thought your point was bogus. First, Vince Young was hyped to the point that people actually thought he was good. Second, the situations weren't really comparable...Young already had been a starter for 4 years and already had a pro bowl appearance by 2009, whereas Tebow was completely unproven.

It wasn't really anything personal until you made it personal. You made some terrible points, and I called you out on it.
