Jim kelly. No SB win last I checked. Made more Pro Bowls was a First team All Pro. Lead one of the best offenses in football for nearly a decade and was constantly viewed as a TOp QB. Eli Manning is not nearly as well respected as Kelly was/is at this point relative to era.

Aikman lead the NFL in completion percentage once and made 3 times as many Pro Bowls as Manning has made so far.

-82.2 QB rating (41st best all time, 21st best among active QB's)

            -No MVP's

            -ZERO time All Pro

-Two time Pro Bowler, in an era where making the Pro Bowl has never been easier

-ZERO time league leader in any major statistical category, aside from INT's

-ZERO time Top 3 finish in any major statistical category, aside from INT's

-ONE Top 10 finish, EVER, in QB rating or completion percentage. TOP TEN! ONCE!

C'mon, tell me more how this doesn't come down to Super Bowl wins. Tell me more about how that list of credentials is Hall of Fame worthy.

Please people, do us all a favor and admit this has everything to do with rings, and nothing to do with anything else. It's not "the top bullet point" to you guys, it's the only bullet point. Lame.

I only groan complete mental retardation. Like Mr Bill posting a picture that actually proves my point. Not his.

Or you droning on about this including calling Eli a better big game QB than Brady.

LOL at me being scared of groaning someone on a message board.

                The throw was fine.

I've explained why countless times as this point and even posted the video illustrating it. Mr Bill tried to post some shitty photo which even helps my point more because it shows the safety reading Brady for the throw down the seem and the underneath outside CB not even fully turned when Welker gets past the second level of the coverage..."If he's even he's leaving" which makes the outside throw Brady made the correct read and throw given the coverage over the top and underneath.
So he's supposed to make a twisting, leaping circus catch? Just how it was drawn up eh?

The ball was too high, too hard. Brady puts it down and to the outside and Welker makes a big play.

I've never said it wasn't the correct read, or the right idea... it was poor placement.

Because he just posted career high numbers, thus he will now average those career high totals for five more seasons. It's simple math, you see.

Also there is something to be said for a QB to consistently play well in the playoffs and Super Bowl. Some QB's choke and cant handle all the pressure. Ill take the non hall of famer that wins Championships all day. As a Giants fan my tune is changing a bit in the regular season. Just get Eli and company in the playoffs and watch out!

I'm supposed to care about compiled stats after he plays for 15 years? He has never put up elite numbers. Even this year, his best season by far, he didn't finish Top 3 in anything! Just stop.

So if it's not "just about rings" (why do you keep putting a 'Z' on the end? weirdo), what else does he have?? His numbers are not special, he has no MVP's, nothing.

You admit yourself, "RINGZ" are the 'number one bullet point'. I disagree with that on the surface, there is always context to consider, and you sir, have none. I prefer to think a bit deeper.
They will be on a career level. Plenty of players are Hall of Famers due to compiled stats...Warren Moon, anyone?

He'll be known as one of the most clutch QBs of All-Time...he's led the league in comebacks and game winning drives twice.

MVPs are for the truly elite of the elite, but there are QBs in the Hall without MVPs...Kelly, Aikman, Moon, Sonny Jurgensen just to name a few.

Unfortunately, thinking deeper means nothing in these discussions...I'm not looking for acceptance of a player to the W2B Pro Football Hall of Fame...I'm looking for acceptance of the actual Hall of Fame, the one that matters.

The context is, he's a 2-time Super Bowl winner, 2-time Super Bowl MVP, career numbers that will place him right around the Top 10 All-Time and in the Top 4 among his contemporaries, one of the most clutch QBs of his era in one of the biggest markets in the league.

You can continue to be some nerd that doesn't understand REAL context of playing the game and attempt to quantify it with context that doesn't actually matter, but real world application of the context above, is a Hall of Famer...and that isn't even applying potential future accolades that the man may achieve. If you want to be late for the bus because you want to stand around and wait for the inevitable, go ahead. I'll be waiting front row, you can sit in the back with your binoculars with your wife fanning you with that damn newspaper in your oil stained Isaac Bruce jersey.
