This is America in 2014. Players don't have to be told to keep quiet, they already know the backlash that will follow if they comment negatively.

This is mostly true but there will always be a small amount of idiots that do say negative things and then you have to do things to redeem yourself like Chris Culliver has had to. I'm sure there will be at least one player that will say something stupid about this situation eventually and he'll get backlash for it.
