Why did Cleveland trade away their picks? Aaron Curry their main man prior to drat day? Gone a pick ahead of them. They wern't sold on B.J. Raji to hold down the DT spot, especially while they're still paying Shaun Rodgers oodles of money. Mangini waited and let the draft play out, let everyone else make the picks. They knew that after Raji and Curry the next spot was to address the OL which caused a lot of problems for them last year and led to quarterback injury after injury without any protection. We started Ken Dorsey!

On that note, why not draft Mark Sanchez? He was available then. Why draft him when you have a capable starter in DA, and a QB still in the making in Brady Quinn, which in my honest opinion to this point is looking like bust. Quinn has flashed a lot of good things but with every good thing he's done, he went and did two bad things. Cleveland heading into this season picked up and fixed needs.

Needing to get a SMART offensive lineman they drafted the guy with the highest IQ in the draft, Alex Mack. Moving on, Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massuqoi. They don't know what their WR core is going to look like, will the new GM ship Edwards? Is Donte Stallworth going to be able to play. By grabbing these two the Browns have something they haven't had since returning to Cleveland and that's depth at the WR position.

Why go with Kaluka Maivia. Maivia was the unsung LB out of USC. He was behind three very good line backers and if anyone of those guys were not in a USC uniform Kaluka would have started. He's a bred athlete his uncle is Dwayne Johnson. Kid has some good genes and could be a stud in the NFL if he can adapt. The LB core is still relatively young in Cleveland, he won't be needed right away.

To say that the Browns deserve a 32nd? I can't really argue against that other than to point my fingers West to the Oakland Raiders, and North to the Detroit Lions, you mean to tell me that with our draft and theirs, Cleveland is still not a better team than these two teams? I'm not going to rip you a new one, it's your opinion but it's not like Cleveland is a top 20 team, or a top 25 at that. Improving and rebuilding I just don't think that 32 is the right spot. I know others will disagree but come on...we don't have Al Davis, that counts for something....right?
this is why it is hard to hate on the browns sometimes... their fans can be very smart and even they can convince other people not a fan of another afc north team they have a chance. look at last year, they even had the talking heads on ESPN and nfl network saying they could really do something.

The truth is the browns will suck, it is just the way of the world. while vinsane and his true brethern of the lost cause brownstains sound good now, just listen to them aftre the first week of camp to get a feel for how they really feel. The only reason the browns were ranked 32 is cuz there wasn't a 33rd spot.

One thing NO ONE can argue is that Miami is setting themselves up to be a real playoff contender in the next few seasons.
What are you talking about. I'll argue it right now.

Porter probably has a season or two left in him at most. I suspect his numbers to drop drastically this season.

Taylor is old, not nearly the player he once was.

Ronnie Brown is one tackle away from a career ending injury.

Miami's passing defense ranked 25th in the league last year despite being top 10 in sacks forced. They need a lot of help in the secondary. Vontae Davis is overrated and has bust written all over him. We'll see about Sean Smith. If these two don't pan out then Miami is going to be in a lot of trouble as nobody else they acquired in the draft is going to do much of anything ever.

Ted Ginn is an average WR and will never be a complete WR.

Who starts opposite of Ginn? Davone Bess? Greg Camarillo? Ummm....exactly.

Miami's offense ranked 21st in the league in scoring. Their offense is nothing to be excited about.

Chad Pennington is the only thing holding that offense together and he will be gone in a couple years.

And I know you are in love with Chad Henne's ballsack but he is going to suck.

So there you go, Miami is heading nowhere any time soon.

If they can finish above .500 in the revamped AFC East, then maybe you'll be able to defend that position. One year, one great season is not enough to say that it is un-argueable.

No one said Taylor would do anything more then add pressure off the end and help out Wake, Merling and Langford.
Taylor isn't much of a pass rusher even, anymore. He's lost the step that made him the player he once was. Without that first initial burst, I don't think he'll be much of anything, even as a pass rusher.
Vontae Davis has bust written all over him? What are you basing this off of? His character issues? His brother has "character issues" and seems to be doing fine. He is the most physically gifted corner in the draft. Miami would've never drafted him if they were worried about his "character issues".
Great on paper but an average cover corner who will have trouble adapting in the NFL because he's so used to relying on his physical skills rather than fundamentals. And his brother has been a huge bust, wtf are you talking about.
Sean Smith IMO will have a better career then Davis. These players combined will be the modern day Surtain/Madison.
I'm high on Smith, hope he does well.

I think you're confusing Ronnie Brown with Cadillac Williams. Brown had a few injury prone seasons but bounced back and had a great 2008 season. He's one of the best running backs in the NFL. No worries there.
Great 2008 season? Under 1000 yards and 10 TDs is a great season now? Average season. He needs to be in a two back system or he will get hurt. He is good so long as he is healthy, but Miami needs another guy (Ricky Williams isn't the answer).
Ted Ginn is an average WR at this point in his career. Give him a quarterback who can throw the deep ball or lead his receiver and we'll see what happens. Until then no one can judge him on two season.
Wasn't he drafted #7 overall? Please tell me you weren't making fun of the Raiders for picking DHB this season.
I couldn't be happier with Camarillo and Bess. But who starts opposite of Ginn? How about Patrick Turner the guy you were praising in another thread?
Camarillo and Bess are average WRs. And I have never praised Patrick Turner, if anything, I've criticized him for being a slow poor route runner who won't ever be an NFL starter. I've said that many times, actually.

Did you watch the Dolphins play last season? With the addition of Pat White I have several reasons to be excited about that offense.
Yes I did, several times actually. Including the Raiders game, which you guys barely won, 17-15.

And Pat White and the Wildcat offense is a gimmick. It'll be good for a couple scores this season, but it's not anything to really be excited about. It won't be used that much nor will it be very effective.

I love Henne, you hate Henne. Your argument is shit.
I don't hate Henne, it's just that he has done absolutely nothing in his entire life worth a piece of pig shit. His college career was nothing special yet you have dubbed him the next Dan Marino. My argument is shit? You don't even an argument.

We'll wait and see. I have a lot to be excited about. That's more then you can say about your 49ers.
I'm a Raiders fan poop head. And unlike you, I know where my team stands and I'm not one of the biggest homers on this forum.

                              1) Pat White isn't a running back.

                              2) Pat White can't play QB in the NFL.

                              3) Pat White isn't that fast.

You guys are smoking some good shit. "Pat White is going to keep you guys contending all year," please excuse me while I vomit all over myself.

It's good to know that you can see into the future and we can't. Porter had 17.5 sacks last year but you can just say he won't do that again. So it's safe to say any pass rusher who has a big year can't duplicate the season before that? Or is it because Porter is "old" at the age of 32? Same is to be said with the Wildcat offense, last year the Dolphins used creative ways out of this formation without having a guy to throw the ball out of the package. Now they can think of even more creative plays with having a guy who can line up as a WR, QB, or HB and you don't know what he is going to do with the ball or if he is even going to get it. But you can look into your crystal ball and tell us that the Wildcat won't be effective at all this year. Ok. And I quoted the last one just to laugh a little bit, your criticizing the Dolphins left and right but your a Raiders fan. I don't care if you know where your team stands, it's still funny that since your "not a homer" you can bash other teams without looking at yours first.
