There have been an insane amount of high-sticking penalties called this year, at least in Flyers games. With the way high sticking/hooking penalties are called a player should never raise their stick above their waste during a game.

The Flyers have 2 potential ROTY candidates with Read and Couturier, both have played really well this year in all situations. Couturier is almost always on the ice when the Flyers have a lead with 2 minutes left in the game, which says a lot.

Carelessness with their sticks is what you're seeing.

I'm almost wondering now that we are in the era where almost everyone has a visor if the amount of high sticking penalties being called is higher then say 10 years ago.

Yeah I wasn't too excited when we had to bring Matt Read up and put him in a Top 3 role but 10 points in 14 games has really exceeded my expectations so far.
