If they had the arena built and ready to go, I bet they would be a front runner ahead of Winnipeg. But since they don't, and Winnipeg has an NHL capable building plus the ties already with the Jets/Yotes franchise, they will get the team no question. Big negative is that the MTS Centre would be the smallest building in the league, so that really hurts to start things off.
The NHL has changed a lot since the Nordiques left, and I think now with a lot of major sponsors in Quebec, the team could be fine. But I doubt the NHL ever adds anymore teams. They may some day go to 32, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon.
