Paul Roma from Power and Glory

Physical Appearance / Look / Character - 8/10, I didnt know it back than, but after some research, Paul Roma was a 'jobber', I just thought he was a guy who couldnt catch a break before he teamed up with Hercules Hernadez, now that I look back, he reminds me of Guy Mezger

Ability to Talk/Sell Yourself - 1/10, did he talk? Maybe

In-Ring Work - 9/10, I'm no wrestling guru, but he had some good moves, a big splash off the top rope, seemed like he wrestled most of the match while Hecules would hang over the rope looking for a tag at the end

Sidnote: I also remembered from looking up Roma, he was paired with JIM POWERS, another 'jobber', I thought they were good wrestlers, I guess I liked the jobbers, I seen the potential

    TOTAL - 18/30

Power and Glory was a tag team I really liked, but something I always remember was a Saturday Nights Main Event where Hulk Hogan fought Hercules, I didnt like Hogan, never was a fan

I don't know if they screwed up, or it was part of thr script, Hercules had Hogan in the tourture rack and he gave up, they rang the bell, but than the reversed the decision and Hulk went onto win, any of you goofs know the back story on that?

      Second part...

Heyman was in a wrestling recession...dude had everything taken from him and had to work with Justin Credible, Steve Corino, and Rhino. Can't hate on'em.
I don't know how i'd score Danielson. I'd have to break it down like this in order to be fair:

      Danielson Look/Gimmick/Persona (ROH): 8
      Danielson Promo (ROH): 7
      Danielson Work (ROH): 10

      Daniel Bryan Look/Gimmick/Persona: 5
      Daniel Bryan Promo: 5
      Daniel Bryan Work: 7

Guy was over like a motherfucker in ROH. I've seen hundreds of live wrestling shows. Nothing is as surreal as a Bryan Danielson ROH ring walk. Not even a live Hogan pop or an E-C-Dubya chant at the arena, not a Stone Cold pop when the glass breaks. 500-2000 geeks singing "Final Countdown" in unison, while Danielson eats it up, tops all of it. Danielson would have everyone in the palm of his hands for 60 minutes. Charisma comes in many forms. That defines charisma.

In the WWE, he's just a guy. He was getting himself over on NXT, the same way he got himself over in ROH, but (surprise!) They cut him off. Not his fault, but tough shit, it is what it is. "Flight of the Valkeries" is meant to mock. He tries to make it work. It doesn't. The Michael Cole feud was fantastic and blew away Cole/Lawler. Not even the same stratusphere. The Jericho match had people buzzing. But he's slotted where he's slotted and that's all he can be. Just a guy.

Paul Roma = Guy Mezger. Fucking classic.

That Hogan/Hercules story isn't ringing a bell. It was all taped back then, so I doubt it was a legit goof. Must have just been some clusterfuck finish that confused a young liquidrob.

And don't feel shame for backing jobbers, some of those guys blew away the "stars". Hercules was dreadful, the fact Roma was the workhorse speaks volumes for that team.

Jim Powers was very solid in his prime.

The best thing about Power & Glory was how Gorilla Monsoon would call them "Herc & Jerk".

I loved Danielson in ROH, I never did get to experience him live in that environment, but I see what you are saying. I just feel...a 8 for Gimmick and 7 persona is high as I gave Bret Hart a 6/5 respectively.

In the E he's just kind of like a bum. Good in-ring guy, but they give him nothing to work with...they did with Jericho and Cole but that went into the shitter quickly.

Look at it this way, larry. He's either the biggest star in ROH history, or at minimum, on their Mt. Rushmore w/Samoa Joe, Punk, and Nigel.

So in the context of ROH, thsose scores make sense. Kinda like how die hard 1995 Tommy Dreamer would be scored drastically different than jobber 2003 Tommy Dreamer. WWF treats people very odd, they hide peoples strengths for some reason. They insist on getting them over in a new way. What's ironic, is with the Dreamer example, he finally got over in the WWE at the end when he did the sympathetic never say die gimmick again. Go figure.

Power and Glory had the BEST tag team finisher of all-time (at least when I was a kid) with the superplex/splash combo.

I understand what you are saying, he's a huge star in ROH. I think he is undoubtedly their #1...but, 7 for promo work...I have Nash at a 7...Nash is a better talker. I think a 5 would be fair, he's got that Bret Hart level talking ability. Awful in some regards, really good in others. Same with look...eh.

I'd give him the same score as I gave Bret Hart, which, I think is pretty damn fair.

Interesting, because I think I gave him the same scores I gave Hart, too.

                        Bryan Danielson
                        The American Dragon

Physical Appearance / Look / Character - 6/10. Listen, WWE-Danielson is uber-bland. ROH-AmDrag-Danielson had a character and look all his own. He was their top guy and was the personification of the product they were trying to put out.
Ability to Talk/Sell Yourself - 5/10. He's ok. Got some subtle charisma.
In-Ring Work - 10/10. Maybe the best wrestler of the past decade.

                        TOTAL - 21/30

I'd probably end up rating him in my Top 25 all-time, ahead of some guys he'd score higher than on this scale.

Bryan Danielson and Daniel Bryan may as well be two different people.

Like Ricky Steamboat and The Dragon or, better yet, Mean Mark and The Undertaker.

                                The Undertaker

Physical Appearance / Look / Character - 10/10. C'mon, the guy has made a zombie character work for 20 YEARS (!!!). Iconic character in wrestling.
Ability to Talk/Sell Yourself - 6.5/10. He's a zombie, so, clearly he doesn't talk too much, but his Ministry days and Biker Taker days showed he could talk.
In-Ring Work - 7.5/10. I max big men out at an 8. I could just as easily give him an 8 because I feel he's a GOAT big man in the ring, but realize he's had a lot of stinkers in his career mostly due to being fed Vince's generic big men for most the 90's, so I'll dock him a bit.

                                TOTAL - 24/30
