Different cable/satellite companies have different deals with promoters, but in general, the promoter gets roughly 40%-50% of the gross. Other people get their hands in the jar also, like distributers, etc.
I'll research the actualy figures when I get a chance, but I know i'm in the ballpark.
sidenote-actual buyrates are almost never released. It's always estimates. Never trust an estimate from a promoter, obviously. The estimates are based on information cable & sat companies choose to provide, so often times you get sketchy numbers because not all the companies release figures. The actual numbers trickle in slowly, and you can't really get an accurate count until sometimes a year after the event.
