I'm not surprised. Naslund spoke of retiring even before his final season in Vancouver, I recall he stated he wanted to raise his kids back in Sweden.
If anything it frees up some salary for the blueshirts.

They need to have someone shadow Ovey. If you look at each of his goals, it was because no one took him, and they let him skate off and be wide open. The Pens were out numbered in their own zone on the first one. Ovie was on the far side of the play and the Caps swung it around to him where he blasted it past Fluery.
Second was directly off a face off and I believe on the PP. One of the Pens players is actually trying to get to him but falls down, after the goal you can see him throw his hands up in the air and skate towards the ref to complain about a tripping call.
His third was just ridiculous. Gonchar is on him but Ovie just uses him as a screen and snipes the corner.
His shot is just unreal. How can you stop a guy like that from shooting?Comment

By covering him. Even when on the PK, you can still know where people are and be covering them within actually right on top of them. Just to many times they let him go unchecked, and he sneaks in. Like the last goal he scored, sure he has a good shot and Gonchar was on him, but if you saw the play unfold, another player (not sure who) went to get the puck when there was already a guy there, thus leaving Ovey wide open.
They should know Ovey is a weapon and he takes a lot of shots. You shut him down, you have a good chance at winning games. Just as I said, to many times they let Ovey skate around without anyone being in arms reach of him. And a player like that, you need to be on him.

Malkin basically cost the Penguins game 1. He didn't back check at all on the 2nd and 3rd goal, and would he have taken his many like he is suppose to do, they wouldn't have scored/would have had a harder time scoring.All you need to know when thinking of the NHL vs Madden series is the two people involved in making the games.
