I'd be shocked if he doesn't end up in WWE. If this is all a swerve for a triumphant return to New Japan, where he dethrones AJ Styles and battles the Bullet Club, I would enjoy that greatly. But it's doubtful.

You have to understand, these guys need to learn how to do "WWE things". It isn't always about ring work. Everything from how to walk back up the ramp after the match, how to interact and not interact with the crowd, how to do interviews (for example, if you notice they always repeat back the question), etc. A big thing with Vince is behaving as if the cameras aren't there (WWE wrestlers rarely ever look directly into the camera). Doing big moves towards the hard cam is another one. A million little things that you never notice when you watch.

With that said, I did read that Devitt asked to skip developmental as part of his deal, and supposedly they agreed. So it may be a very short stay in Florida, just to learn the things above.
