Nash has been with the company since Rumble, they just haven't used him. Expect him to be someone's bodyguard whether it's Del Rio or someone else. Perhaps they can use this to ignite the feud between Punk and Hunter with Punk accusing him of screwing him out of the belt (while Hunter denies it).

The word was WWE wanted the belt on ADR for when they go to Mexico around October, so expect him to have a reign through Survivor Series at the least.

Its just merely an example of how the WWE loves to hot shot its talent in the present day, thus ruining many careers.

You can't compare how they booked the big titles in the 70s, 80s or even mid 90s to how they do it today. Now, they have about 50 weeks of live television plus monthly PPVs.

Every once in a while they may luck into a program that makes the belt look great, but more often than not, it is exactly a prop.

Its not about trying to do what they did in the 70s. They've had weekly TV for nearly 20 years now. They've used the monthly PPV model since 1995. The Attidue Era ended a decade ago. Yet its only in the past 2-3 years that the WWE has decided to completely and utterly treat all belts like garbage. When they decided to hot-shot the belt around in the Attitude Era, it was usually with some degree of purpose.

I'm trying to remember world title reigns from the past where they put the belt on cards who had previously been midcarders, used the world title to try to get them over (and yet didn't book them to allow it), and then ended up treating the workers like midcarders again just a few months after losing the belts... They've now done in the past year or two with Jack Swagger, Dolph Zigger, Sheamus, The Miz, and even Christian...

The belts are props. They've always been props. But a protected, well-used prop can add a great deal to a storyline. The WWE still tries to present the main belts as if they matter and draw money, yet they continually do things to negate that.

The WWE has had weekly TV for decades, I don't see that as an excuse to hotshot everything, especially the title.

They have to hotshot the title now, because they've been doing it for 10+ years and there is no going back.
