Well, depends on your definition of "up and comer".

To deserve a spot in a main event level match, you should be a money drawing performer. So you can scratch off Danielson, who has worked exactly two matches so far--a dark match vs. Chavo, and a FCW match vs. Kaval/Low Ki.

The answer, is nobody. Sheamus hasnt earned that spot yet.

The only name I can give you, is CM Punk. He's had a great heel run, and I believe he's positioned himself to break into the upper tier and can draw money with the right opponents. Do you consider him an up-and-comer? Probably not.

They are missing the boat on is Jack Swagger. For whatever reason, Vince dosent like him. I think it has something to do with his Oklahoma backround (JR), and his similarities to Kurt Angle. Yes, Vince is that petty.

Frankly, I can't think of any WWE newer guy as a main eventer yet.

CM Punk, IMO, was more interesting as a face. As a heel, he's just touching on crap that's boring and predictable. "You drink and take prescription drugs!!!" Snore. Everyone does that. (Actually, I have no prescriptions).

IMO, and I know you'll laugh, but the most original newcomer is Maryse. She reminds me of a female Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig.
She has the attitude, look and interview skills.
