We dominated possession but I'd argue their chances were better than ours. We just sent in cross after cross praying somebody would do something. Kuyt had a couple decent shots but they were from a shit angle. Its beyond finishing at this point. Our whole formation and style of play is wrong. Our 2 midfielders are fucking useless hanging back 25-30 yards.

The league does matter. Finishing in the bottom half is unacceptable regardless of how many trophies we win. Finishing below 7th is unacceptable really. You think we're going to draw big names if we finish 9th, 10th, or 11th? Fuck no. We've got no business talking shit to any team, especially one who may be capturing their 20th league title soon while we sit around and jerk it to a Carling Cup.

You're far too negative, we played some great football, we were just wasteful for the umpteenth time this season. The move that led to Hendo the crossbar was gorgeous. Coming 7th or coming 11th really makes no difference. Yea our league performance has been shocking but it's been a strange season, I mean you'd think thing would balance themselves out over the course of a season but it's gone on all season long. We really have played well for the majority, it's just the chance conversion, it'd be another story if we were playing shite. Over being top with 3 to go, of course, no doubt in my mind that City will win now so being top on April 22nd means fuck all, if they win the league then yes it's a different story.


I agree its a combination of shitty finishing, bad luck, no Lucas, no Stevie for a good part, the Suarez ban and the fact that we've too many good/deccent players and not enough great ones. We've been out of real contention for so long that I'm not gonna get heated over what we do in the league at this point, have we been good enough to deserve Top 4 this season probably not but we've been better than our results.
