So Pepe to Napoli on loan for the season. A lot of people are losing it over the deal but here's how it breaks down to me...
-Pepe has been slipping and we went out and got our keeper for the next 8-10 years.
-We wanted to sell Pepe but the market isn't there, only Barca are truly interested but with Valdes in place they weren't going to make a move until next year.
-Pepe gets to move on and play with his former manager and keeper coach, while maintaining his value.
-We get 110K off the books for the season and can use that money towards new incoming players.
-Pepe moves on to Barca next season and we profit.
Once you get past the "it's a loan deal?!" shock, it's actually a good deal for both Pepe and the club. It's sad to think such a great player has probably played his final game in a Red shirt, but such is life for the supporters.
