They've put all their focus into Rock, H's, Lesnar, Cena, Undertaker for the big draws, that they didn't fill out the top of the card very well, because there is no use for them when the above four are back (excluding Cena.)
And what happens when those guys are done? You push bums like Bo Dallas and Ryback?

Hogan-Yokozuna @ WrestleMania frowns upon this ending.

They need to continue the push of guys like Ziggler into the main event scene. What's the best way to use Punk's one year plus reign? Have him lose to Ziggler who then becomes the first undisputed champion in a decade.

my biggest issue is how predictable it was, with the crowd begging them for something new and groaning at every turn ... the Arizona crowd

Ziggler out there for 50-minutes was the biggest waste of time in the history of the Rumble.

            Completely pointless, anti-climactic...just awful.

Best aspect of the show was Jericho.

They've ruined Ziggler by making look like a nerd at every potential breakout moment.

If I were a young Indy talent I'd look at this show and it would basically make up my mind that I'm not going to waste my time with the WWE. Bust your ass to make a name for yourself only for it not to matter because a guy like the Rock has a 2 month gap in his movie schedule.

                    I can see that.

However, they know that people like you, me, and everyone else here on VSN that is active in the Wrestling forum is going to tune in. They will cash in on Rock and Cena with merch and PPV buys, same thing with H's, Taker and Lesnar right now. Because they know that there are always going to be people tuning in no matter what, and they will always see the increased buys when those four come back for a major PPV.

Rock/Punk was good, the ending gives Punk plenty of fuel to babble on...he beat/pinned Rock afterall. Rocky gets the emotional win and the Shield got their 2 cents in.

Even though it was all the most obvious results, I liked it.

The Rumble...was what it was, some entertaining spots. Jericho's return was tits. Ziggler's elimination, ugh. Bo Dallas eliminating Barrett was a nice twist. The Bryan/Kane stuff was funny. Mysteiro & Sin Cara returns

I'm gonna love (in respect to Cena doing it 10 years running plus) when all everyone remembers is how great Cena was or how The Rock is STILL great when they got guys like Danielson, Punk, Ziggler, Kidd and more in the back who kill themselves for basically... nothing because nobody will allow them to be great.

Punk's reign isn't shit now because all anyone will care about is how he lost due to Vince sucking The Rock's dick.

Just to stay a few more months because the ratings are down again.

But it's whatever... fuckin' sheep who pay for tickets to see has-beens win the belt for the 8th time can celebrate their fake champion.

Motherfucker's not my champion and never will be.

That's 1 way of looking at it.

The other, more reasonable way is....by Rock participating and headlining Wrestlemania, more buys. More buys = more money for EVERYONE.

I didn't get this one either. Short kid, average body, can't see an IT factor. Frankly, I think his dad would have been a better Royal Rumble entrant.

Was kinda surprised Brock Lesnar didn't appear tonight. Totally expected him there in some way.

Didn't like how Rock-Punk played out. They should have just given Rock a clean win if that's what they wanted to do. This just looked stupid.

As for the Rumble, I always enjoy it. Hate that Cena won, but I'd rather he win than Ryback. Jericho was amazing ... love that comeback to the fans' "You've still got it" chant. "I never lost it, baby!"

And the rest of the PPV's do like shit and RAW tanks it in the ratings after Super Cena overcomes the odds the beats Rock, that's really good business.

some massive overreactions in this thread

Show was not good, but it wasn't terrible. It was just "there". Very predictable, paint by numbers, but ultimately the right people won the most important matches.

Cena/Rock II is the best match for business at WrestleMania, I can't fault them for going in that direction. Honestly most of you were trying to out think yourselves, it was the obvious direction.

                                Rock/Cena
                                Lesnar/Trips
                                Punk/Taker
                                some combo of Del Rio/Show/Sheamus
