I assumed it was gonna be Lesnar standing over the Rock.

Same. I was convinced Lesnar was the loophole. Which marks, I believe, the 9th straight PPVs where I was convinced Lesnar was returning.

That would have been awesome, but unfortunately we are getting Trips/Lesnar at Mania.

My biggest gripe is how they did everything possible to trivialize Punk's 434 day title reign. Rock gets a pre match promo but Punk doesn't. Punk has to come out first. Rock gets to throw a temper tantrum and restart the match. I realize the payoff is a Rock vs Cena rematch at Wrestlemania but why not then have Rock win at Elimination Chamber by beating someone other than Punk. Now we basically go into another lame duck PPV where we already know who is going to win the main event.

Not really but I'm not sure what people expect from The Rock these days. I don't know, I guess I'm not in the same crowd, I found it pretty okay. I thought Punk did a great job and given Rock's probably less than stellar cardio I thought they did what they could given their time allotted.

The worst part of the whole thing was Team Hell No retaining the belts. The gimmick has run its course and you would have thought the graduation last Monday would have been the death knell for their title reign. It would have been a perfect time to put the belts on Team Rhodes Scholars and let Bryan and Kane go back into the singles pool

If they want Rock/Cena, what's the difference between what they did tonight and what you suggested at E.C.? Here, he gets to say he pinned Rocky and was fucked over by Vince. There, he says he was fucked over because he was never beaten for the gold. Same shit, different channel basically.

I would have loved if they let Punk keep the belt through WM, but it just wasn't going to happen. His 1+ year reign was good...well, the 2nd half at least.

I'm guessing WWE said, "shit everyone is guessing all of our finishes, let's show them". So they retain, tease a breakup at Rumble, lose on Raw this week or next and commence the breakup program.
