Maybe it's that exact "we're better" mentality you are typifying right here?

I basically meant we haven't spend hundreds of millions to be here. Sure we spend more than other clubs but not on the level of Chelsea and City over the past five years.

Also Liverpool haven't had much success recently so it's a bit more difficult to label their fans as band wagoners than the other 3 clubs mentioned but yeah basically anyone who roots for a team overseas is a band wagoner.

I don't really think we choked it away, we won 11 straight to reach this position. We aren't in this spot without Gerrards play this season.

I'm not blaming Everton. It's understandable they'd be a little afraid of possibly playing in the CL. Can't blame them for getting weak at the knees.

I think the team has believed they could do it longer than the fans have. Gerrard taking his shirt off after scoring that penalty against Fulham showed how bad he wants it.

I cant believe we're a point off first though. City lurking is a bit annoying though, even if we win out they could take first.

I hope that draw to West Brom doesn't bite Liverpool in their ass.

Would of been sweeter if the Sunderland GK would of not let the 2nd goal roll by him. Sort of pulling for Sunderland to stay up. 3 points there would of been huge. But yeah, wow at City not getting 3 points there.

Crystal Palace match is not going to be easy. They have been in great form.

Oh I think LVG would be a good signing don't get me wrong, it's just if I were a United supporter I'd want to just say fuck it, accept the position you're in, and get someone who while they might not bring instant glory, would be someone who would be there at the club for years to come.

I mean thinking about the length of the career that Rodgers could have at Liverpool is mind blowing. If Rodgers retired at the same age as Fergie, and assuming he doesn't leave... that's 30 years. 30 YEARS. Stability is important.

I think BR wants to be a legend at Liverpool. The players all seem to love him too, I don't think he'd leave.

You have to realize that Liverpool is a different club from any other club.

Does Rodgers understand the Liverpool way? Yes.
Does Rodgers respect the history of the club? Yes.
Does Rodgers understand the community? Yes.
Does Rodgers have the desire to defend the club against all odds? Yes.

That combined with a league title would assure that he gets just about as long he wants. Prior to the Owl Face fiasco, Liverpool supporters were a club that stood by their managers as long as they recognized that LFC is more than just a football club.

LOL. Stop. Arsenal are out of it by March. We've come down to the final games and had an 11 match winning streak going. We're almost certainly not going to win it, but even on the last day we'll still be in the hunt mathematically.

Am I supposed to be upset that we're likely to finish 2nd in the league now when we were never supposed to be here in first place? Sucks, but that's the way it goes. We weren't good enough to close the season, but we'll be back. Regardless of the result tonight, it's been an exciting season to be a Liverpool supporter.
