2013 NFC Divisional Game: #5 Seattle Seahawks at #1 Atlanta Falcons

The Seahawks are red-hot right now but I give the slight nod to the Falcons because of experience and home field. I almost hope that I am wrong so that the Packers can get redemption for the "Fail Mary" game.

I didn't even think about that. But I would say Seattle is the most improved team from the start of the season until now, mainly because of their offense. Their defense was great that game, but their offense stunk. Now their offense has made some major strides.

As for this game, I think Atlanta keeps with tradition and loses another playoff game.

they barely beat the Redskins with an obviously re-injured RGIII.

What experience? They've been terrible in the playoffs. And the home field advantage thing, yes, it's there, and it's not like very many Seahawks fans will be there, as it's across the country for them, but Seattle plays in the loudest stadium in the league. Crowd noise isn't going to affect them.

Seattle's defense is used to playing when there is a lot of noise, the home crowd typically quiets down for the offense to run their plays and only cheers for big plays. I believe the historical win percentage for home field teams is somewhere around 66% in the playoffs. That's not a coincidence.

:facepalm: The Falcons are nowhere near as physical as Seahawks, Turner isn't as big a threat as he was before, if anything the argument for the Falcons would start a little bit more like this: Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White, Julio Jones, Matt Ryan. Two legit WR's and a HoF TE, Seattle hasn't bumped into many teams that have that caliber of weapons to cover, it's up to Atlanta's receivers to not get rattled when Browner and Sherman are throwing them to the ground as plays end and getting in their faces.

I go with Seattle tho, allowing under 80 yards in the final 3 quarters against the Skins, after falling behind 14-0 on the road in a loud stadium and they cam back and stayed calm and won, their confidence is through the roof right now.

The pressure is all on Atlanta to reverse their playoff trend and prove they can take it to the next level. Seattle has no pressure on them, really. They've already won a game with a rookie QB and no one really expected them to be here at the start of the season, so they've already exceeded expectations. People are expecting Atlanta in the conference championship and even the Super Bowl, they've got a whole lot riding on this current team that also choked away last years game.

Was arguing about that with a Seahawks fan earlier today. Seahawks fans are saying they match up well with us but they haven't faced this many weapons on offense in a while. For all we know Roddy, Julio, TG, and Quiz could be the bunch to expose their defense.

I noticed Atlanta tried to get Harry Douglas involved a lot vs TB, as well as sticking him at PR (Which they've should of done a long time ago). He's definitely going to have to find his way open in the slot. Tony and Quiz will have to be huge for this game as well. I hope their done with the conservative bullshit, looking forward to seeing the difference with DVG and Mularkey not there.
