Just finished all the missions in Rome. That was an interesting time. Had to make a tough choice there at the end. I like how the mission settings are pretty varied. It's not the exact same looking location every single missions to make it boring. The many different types of enemies you come across in each different mission (and having to read their dossiers and whatnot if you gather the info) has been pretty fun.

Still loving this game. On to Taiwan tomorrow. We'll see if I can finish this game up tomorrow (or at least this weekend).

Well, I finished the game today. It's a real shame it's so unpolished and couldn't live up to its potential, b/c the story and characters are top notch. Some real tough choices to make throughout this game, which I absolutely loved.

 

I did not save Albatross. I thought I made the right decision at the time, but after the disappointment of the information I found, I was a little disappointed that I didn't go after Albatross. I bet he would have been a good resource later in the game.

Most of the time I let people live, just b/c you never know when they could come in handy later on down the line. Which was nice when one did.

It was too bad that Madison had to die. She was a nice girl, but there was just no way I could let them bomb the museum.

There were a few characters/groups that I wish I could have gotten more of a story on, like Albatross/Sis and Marburg for example. They were so very interesting, but their roles seemed a tad short.

Omen Deng? I fucking executed that son of a bitch on the spot when I finally got to him. That smug son of a bee sting got on my nerves and just seemed too dangerous to let him live.

Darcy was always the prick that got on my nerves back at Alpha Protocol, but I always felt he was too stupid to pull off whatever was going on. I always had my eyes on Westridge.

Oh, and how fucked up was Steven Heck? What a fucking psychotic SOB. I can't believe that fucker gave me up for 5M. Well, actually I can, but I wasn't expecting it lol.

Through most of the story I kept thinking that Michael would end up with Mina. She was a good character throughout. Well it didn't quite work out that way. At the end I could either save her, or go after that mother fucker Leland. As much as I wanted to save her, I just couldn't let Leland walk out of that place. So I went and killed that fuck.

I was thrown off when I came across Scarlett being held at AP and she confessed that she was the shooter in Taiwan.

Anyways, myself and Scarlett sailed off into the sunset on Leland's boat.

I am going to go back to my last save and see what happens when I go after Mina. Came too far not to see an ending with her in it.

I do wonder though, had I made a couple choices differently, if she would have been the one that I was able to get away with while taking out Leland, or if that was set in stone.

Going from the Middle East to Moscow to Rome to Taiwan has fun. The constant change of places and the groups/people you dealt with was very refreshing and always kept you on your toes.

I really enjoyed the combination of espionage and RPG. That's something new and I loved it.

Anyways, a damn fine experience if you can get passed the sometimes bad AI, the not-so-great graphics and animation, the occasional glitch/bug and the sometimes bad framerate. I can understand why someone wouldn't like this game, b/c the unpolishedness is quite widespread. But if you can look beyond those things, there's a lot to enjoy. I really wish Obsidian would get the chance to make a sequel. A great game could be built off the foundation they created with this one.

I'd say go through another round of the game if you have the time to see the other story bits you may have missed... :tiptoe:

 

I know you can end up on the boat at the end with Heck, Mina, Scarlett or even by yourself if you do certain things.

 

Hell, you can even WORK for Leland at the end if my memory serves me correctly.

Espionage RPG, who wouldn't be intrigued? Such a hidden gem from this gen.

Nathan Drake? Sure. Stephen Heck? No thank you.
