Anyone Else Tired of Tim Tebow

Yes.

People have gone completely overboard with it to the point that I don't think it's purely about football anymore. Like I didn't see this type of hype when Vince Young came in for a 0-6 team that had just loss 0-59, then immediately the team goes 7-1. That run had OT games and 6 4th quarter comebacks / game winning drives. Including a 99 yard game winning drive verses the Cardinals. Both times you saw the D instantly turn things around and start shutting down other teams. Both times you saw a top 5 rushing attack.

I did not see Vince Mania though.

I also think that players like Von Miller and Willis McGahee aren't getting enough credit.

I rarely watch anything but NFLN and havent watched much else for years. But Vince mania was alive and well.
The fact hes white and loves Jesus and so many said he wouldnt make it on this level at all gives him an extra 2 ounces of hype...but VY was most certainly hyped.

Also Von Miller and WM get plenty of cred. Irvin in particular said that McGahee is as much the driving force as Tebow is.

The game I look forward to the most every weekend is the Broncos, and it's not even close.

I think the Tim Tebow story is so intriguing because he has practically no passing skills. He's an ok quarterback but you can't win in the NFL running the option. The corners are too fast and defensive units in the NFL will eventually how to combat it. They're just not using to seeing it right now.

Glad the Patriots essentially put an end to the Cinderella story. That was the real Broncos team.

I don't think a white Bronco has received this much attention since the OJ Simpson murders.

You've watched the Bronco highlights on ESPN every monday morning, that's probably it. Cool fucking story bro. Actually watch the games and you'd know Tebow has made a lot of progress. Yes he was a train wreck in the first 55 minutes of the Miami game, but he looks completely different now. His improvement is extraordinary.

And the Cinderella story certainly isn't over yet. Tebow took over a 1-4 team and now has them on the verge of a division title. Be glad he's too nice of a guy to tea bag your dumb ass. Honest question, do you guys think Tebow can lead a comeback against one of the better teams in the NFL in the 4th QTR come playoff time? I don't think he can. Sucking for 3 QTR's, and making a great comeback isn't going to happen every week. He needs to play alot more consistent if he wants to have any chance of being a successful QB in the NFL.

The Broncos defense deserves just as much credit, if not more credit than Tebow over the last 9 weeks. Broncos have scored more than 20 PTS in 3 out of the last 9 games. One of those games came against the Vikings, and the other against the Patriots (lost 41-23)

The one thing that I do like about Tebow is how much he limits the turnovers. He's not affraid to throw the ball away in most situations, and that's a problem that most young QB's usually have.

I also think that he has shown great improv. over the last few games, but he needs to play more consistent over the whole game, and he needs to get a quicker release when he passes in the pocket.

So, I think he is probably an below-average QB right now who has gotten very lucky over the last several games. He has potential to be an average-slightly above average QB, mainly because of the fact he limits turnovers. In order to make that big leap though, he needs to get a quicker release, and get a bit more accurate on his passes.

But, I am not buying into the hype as of now. Without a good Broncos D, we are probably talking about a team that would have lost 6 out of the last 9 games, instead of being 7-2. I just wouldn't trust him as my QB come playoff time.

Regardless of what happens in the game the story is always about Tebow. He is probably the only QB that can have a game where he completes 2 passes but the headline will read "Tebow leads Broncos to 17-10 win over Chiefs." Things like the Broncos holding the Chiefs to 10 points go largely unnoticed. Broncos beat the Bears, hold them to 10 points. You got the kicker bombing 59 yard field goals, defense forcing turnovers deep in their own territory in OT. All you hear is "OMG Tebow" when dude barely completed half his passes and turned the ball over twice. There is not another QB in the league that gets that type of treatment. Not even a Brady or Manning.

You wouldn't even know the Broncos had a DPOY candidate on their team based on the coverage they get.

The "QB gets all the credit" mentality is usually bad enough but it's gone to extreme lengths with Tebow.

If they make the playoffs it will be as a 4 seed. Meaning they'll almost certainly be playing against the Ravens or Steelers. Not a bum fuck team, a team that will have a better record than them and a team that is better on both sides of the ball. Broncos will get wrecked. Their only chance at a win is an injured Big Ben.

I actually like Tebow and always have. Much like Vick, Vince Young, etc its refreshing to see a QB do it in an unconventional way that goes against everything people have thought the position was about. Football wise Tebow really isn't doing anything different from any other young running QB, but it helps that he's white, is open with his Christian beliefs and the team is winning. People have to remember that Tebow has always had a cult following going back to his highschool days. Its just something about him that generates a lot of interest.

Its refreshing to see a team rally around the basic concepts of faith/belief (whatever you want to call it) to continue to work hard, remain focused and believe they're always going to be in a game. For me the Tebow and Broncos story is refreshing even if it is short lived.

First, Vince Young came in for an 0-3 team, not an 0-6 team, and Vince had played a big role in the team's 40-7 Week 2 loss to San Diego with his poor play.

Second, when Young was installed as the starter in Week 4, the team had just lost 13-10 to Miami, not 59-0.

Third, Young's first start was a 45-14 shellacking handed to them by a mediocre Dallas team.

Fourth, Young lost his first two starts, and 4 of his first 6 starts, which essentially eliminated the Titans from the playoffs.

Fifth, while the Titans did get hot at the end of the year after they had been eliminated from postseason play and ended up 8-8, Young's 8-5 record as a starter is a far cry from the 7-1 you suggested.

Sixth, Young was actually pretty terrible. He rarely threw the ball down the field (as evidenced by his meager 6.2 YPA), yet he still managed to throw 13 INTs and ended up with a 66.7 QB rating.

I personally don't care much about him....he is in the NFC far away from the Giants. When running is one of your strongest point as a QB in the NFL.....it usually doesn't equate into success in the long run.

I would argue that Tebow's success has brought MORE attention to guys like Von Miller and Willis McGahee. If the Broncos were 4-10 right now and floundering with Brady Quinn at QB, I would guess that very few people would know who Von Miller was, and most people would have thought that McGahee had retired.

He had 290 yards of offense and two TDs and basically had to be our running game after the first quarter. I was really impressed by his play.

I am very impressed with his running ability....it's crazy how guys cant tackle this white boy but he needed to throw more in the 2nd half and score quickly to get his team in better position. I guess it didn't really matter Brady was not to be stopped that game anyway.
