the more and more i play this game the better it gets. a little less than halfway through but this game gets my nod for game of the year so far, granted i havent played that many games so far this year but this is the type of game you need to force yourself to stop playing as to not beat it in a day

Nope you didn't miss anything. After the joker shoots you (no way to avoid it) it says "Push the middle stick to avoid the Joker's fire" I don't know what the middle stick is, but you can't do anything to avoid being shot. That line must have been accidentally left in the game.

Getting the x40 achievement in free flow combat is becoming a huge bitch for me. The most I've gotten is 32. The henchman with knives are streak killers. If you accidentally punch one without stunning it, it kills your streak. Even though you don't take damage from it.

The middle stick line is supposed to make you say "huh" if you

 

don't realize its a Scarecrow segment

I got the x40 achievement the same time I got the Party Pooper one; like 20 guys with no knives.

Unfortunately you can't solve all the riddles....ie Clayface is an example. It didn't come to mind that I should scan him while playing the game....don't believe he will be there.....if I am wrong, let me know.

^ Clayface is still there after you beat the game.

There shouldn't be anything you can't go back and find/solve later.

I didn't even know you could "scan" enemies?

Random thoughts on this game:

I'm about 45% done now. Can't see how people were saying 10 - 12 hours of game play. Maybe I'm just slow.

Neither can I. I think I'm about the same percentage and I've been playing for at least ten hours. Of course remember when there were reports that Prototype was a six hour game? That's what I never believe that shit.

Keep in mind that the percentage is a combination of story mode, riddles, and challenge trophies. I think I was at around 60% when I beat it

Hope you haven't gotten your fill of Batman: Arkham Asylum, because Eidos is planning not one -- but at least two DLC packs for release in the next two weeks. According to SCEE's Mike Kebby, next week's free DLC will be entitled "Insane Night." "Prey in the Darkness" will follow one week later, on September 24th.

It appears the upcoming expansions will be brand new, and won't be re-releases of pre-order exclusive DLC, such as "Dem Bones" and "Crime Alley." We don't know any other details on the two upcoming releases, but we do know this: we want them. Now.

I agree that this game is easily one of the best games of the year at this point. It's a great game geberally but if you are a Batman fan it's orgasmic.

Edit: Doing the takedowns while hanging on a railing under a bad guy is awesome.

I agree all around, especially on the railing take downs. I also love ziplining (sp) through a window and knocking a guard out. Aren't many opportunities (in fact, there might only be one in the predator mode), but it's fun as shit and looks fucking awesome.

I beat the game on hard, now I'm going for all of the challenge mode medals.
I have 19/24 for the stealth mode challenges, but the combat ones are going to be a bitch.

Good luck with Shock Treatment Extreme or whatever it's called. Only point at which I wanted to chuck the damn controller out the window. Also, if you really are having trouble getting x40, good luck with getting the 3 medals. Some of them you pretty much HAVE to break 40.

I had one of the coolest series of events that I can remember happen in this game last night. I enter this room from a vent and there are like 6 enemies. The first guy is pretty much right below me on a catwalk. I drop down and stealth knock him out. I then see another guy near a railing so I grapple up and then grab him and slam his head into the railing and throw him over. I then sneak around behind another guy guy who is trying to run over to investigate the taking down of the last guy. Then I have 3 guys left. I wait for them to all run to the last guy I took out. I crouch behind a corner and then take them down with my triple batarang. I run over and finish them off one by one.

You can spray the stuff on knocked out enemies, and when they run over, you blast them!

I'm guessing I'll be able to unlock gel that I can spray long distance? I keep seeing weakened walls that have no ledge near them and are high up. It would seem that the only way to access them would be to spray the gel from a distance.

So, I finally booted up Home for the first time in ages. As soon as it started I got a message saying that I had unlocked several inFamous clothing items and also the Batcave Outpost. I checked out the Batcave and it's damn sweet. Plus you can set it as your default Home space. I also edited my character with Cole's clothing options.

Maybe Home isn't that bad after all? It looks like they added a shitload of new areas too.

You know the part where

 

you have to climb through the broken walls place again? Cuz then you have to rip down a wall. I swear I killed the 3 guys behind it. I grappled all 3 and they flew off and fell so far down I coudln't even see them anymore.
