Ok all this hype for this game, the awesome trailers and what not. I've never played a Battlefield game but all this shit has me intrigued. If I got it, it'd be on the PS3...so with that said, what makes this game so special? Is the campaign mode pretty good? Does it have offline co-op? Is online mode virtually the same as COD?

I'm seriously considering blindly spending $60 on this as soon as I get off work in like 4 hours.

Once it ships you can't change the payment option. You could maybe try talking to one of their customer service people, they might be able to do something.

I just looked at my email to check it out. It says you have to use the promo code at checkout now rather than it just showing up similar to a gift card balance like it used to. I didn't realize they changed it. So my last post was wrong.

It should still work for anything sold by Amazon. Maybe contact customer service to see what's going on.

Also check to make sure it's not being sold by another vendor.

I'd recommend this, they're usually pretty good with this sort of stuff.

I've never played a Battlefield game but all this shit has me intrigued. If I got it, it'd be on the PS3...so with that said...

1) what makes this game so special?

2) Is the campaign mode pretty good?

3) Does it have offline co-op?

4) Is online mode virtually the same as COD?

1) BF3 = Squad-based team tactics mixed with FPS play and vehicle driving/flying.

2) The Campaign is allegedly good according to which reviewer you read; some will compare it to every modern day shooter in that it's the U.S. and/or Coalition Forces stopping a nefarious plot set forth by those damn dirty Terrorists.

Others will dig the story for it's depiction of war in the possible near future; no zombies, no aliens, no robots versus humans... just a man, his gun and his tank/plane/personnel carrier if need be.

3) The Co-Op I believe is Local On-Line/Offline and you could also take it online if you'd like.

4) As for just playing online, the premise is the same: You want to get a high score by the end of the round, with unlocks to earn as you progress in rank... the same as COD.

The difference is, you're rewarded moreso for helping your squadmates out and generally doing things as part of a team.

Also, the maps are bigger that COD and depending on which game mode you play in online, they could be damn near huge.

Appreciate it. All sounds good to me (I think the zombie/alien fad is cool and all in it's own right, but for a separate game or even mode like COD does it). I'm guessing it's set in the modern age then right?

Hmm, I'm thinking the wise choice might be to Redbox it for a day or two before deciding if I really want it. I do like that it focuses on the team aspect though, that's why I was/am a big SOCOM fan.
