Charger teams were just as talented. Somehow a team with a wealth of talent , playoff contention felt ok getting rid of Brees for an unproven guy. Amazingly they got better after dumping him. Saints are still mediocre. Its been said several times and you still comeback with the same hogwash ?

Even in NO, Reggie Bush, Colston, Shockey, pre-Shaun Alexander'ized Duece, a great o-line...people act as if he's working with Archie Manning esque complimentary players. He's been surrounded by very good to great offensive talent his entire career.

Come on! Look at the guys you listed. Bush is a nice player, but not a superstar. Colston is good whenever he's healthy, but he's not all that talented. Shockey is garbage. Deuce had one good year. That would be comparing them in almost identical situations. Equal amount of talent , similar team successes ,roughly the same points in there careers.

The only thing different in NO is that S.Payton is far more pass happy/friendly.Brees racked up a bunch more yardage but its still in the same category of not winning anything with it. His last 2 years in SD were very good. Noone is saying otherwise. But hes had almost identical seasons in NO except its taking him an extra 100-150 throws.

Theres nothing being proposed or that Ive seen that would lead me to think Brees is going to do better in a clutch game then Romo. Quite the contrary while Romo has shown to be mediocre Brees has been shown to be abysmal. As I said in my first post at least Romo gives me a chance he may have one of his spectacular games equal to the chance he may have a crappy one. Brees is almost assured not to make a winning impact on the game.

Are you stupid? He was an undrafted FA. They had Drew Bledsoe if you don't remember, who I'm almost positive they had a decent amount of money invested in. You don't just throw an UFA who's never played out there over a guy you signed to be your starter.
