I do have to agree with you on his contract. We've seen fire-sales in the past, and there will always be some teams (Yankees, Dodgers, Mets, Red Sox, Cubs, Angels) who will be willing to take on huge contracts, but in this economy it's not as sure of a thing.

That being said, I stillwouldn't deny the possibility of a trade.

Lyon will probably be out of town in a few months if he doesn't get his act together. Boo'd on opening day, and zumaya coming off injured list hopefully soon.

Not yet at least. Another season in the dumps and there could possibly be a semi-fire sale. Not a full blown, Marlins-type, but if Cabrera isn't producing, might as well try to get him out of there.

I think it depends more on ticket sales than anything else, if people still go to the games even though they suck (like someone said a while back), then that decreases the chance of a firesale. but because of the crappy economy (especially in Detroit) and (possibly) team, people end up not going to as many games...well then, come on to Boston Miggy! :) (remember, this is also wishful thinking on my part)

(edit: but someone in Detroit would probably know better :))

I agree with you on the first paragraph but on the second one I dont. You may not beleive he's going ot have a great season but you can never predict a monster season. plus it has only been a few games keep MVP talks for later on in the season

If I said Cabrera for MVP its just because he's my favorite player and I have to support him not because I really meant it. Cabrera to the Sox would be incredible, it would put another ring on his hand and a huge contract.
