Wierd, feels like breaking up with a longtime girlfriend lol.

Been a subscriber since 96' ...long time.

Besides football who needs TV? Im gonna miss NFL Network and some History and Natgeo shows but other than that its a waste of money.

The kids got Netflix on Ps3s so they wil be fine. You can watch alot of stuff on internet for free also.

As far as watching football this season Im still making my gameplan.

I live in Cali so Sunday Ticket was a must to watch my Gmen.

Nfl preseason live for 20$straight
Nfl rewind season plus 69$straight
and hoping I can get Sunday Ticket on my PS3 for 200$? ( am I going to be able to do this without being direct tv anymore?)

Anybody doing anything similar or have better options of doing this?
 
I'd fucking die without DirecTV/TV, more power to you, my bill is outrageous between subscribing to everything they offer plus MLB & NFL.

Pretty sure the Sunday Ticket is only $199 on DirecTV, but with what you are saving by cancelling DTV, you still come out ahead if Sunday Ticket in $400 on PS3.

You guys who watch shit on the internet regularly must have some super internet connections or something. Streaming never works out for me, but I think my standards are too high. I get annoyed at the first sight of an embedding pinwheel or any skipping/freezing and give up. I'm spoiled by HD and can't settle for gritty looking streams with shaky reliability. I wish I could, I would save the money, too. Cable/Sat subscriptions are on a downward trend the last two years.
 
yes i just dropped my cable from premium to basic.....we just dont sit down and watch tv anymore now....basically because there is nothing on. We use netflix and amazon prime and the internet. We are missing Wimbledon but we can sort of watch via the web. It is a tough adjustment but I am more productive and Saturday morning I turned the TV on there was shit on. I turned it off and worked out for 90 mins. TV makes you lazy....plus fuck the cable company.
 
The only thing that keeps me from going to full time streaming is the fact that I can't get the ridiculous amount of college football without it.

Also, most important streaming companies like ESPN and HBO, you need to have their cable subscription to go with it.
 
yeah i hate not having espn.....it is very hard. I have to go the xbox but it is not the same and my cable company doesn't allow us to have espn3

Yeah as far as quailty streaming wise not a big deal to me for general stuff. Movies I can watch on Netflix or via Redbox in high quailty. Watching my Gmen though non HD.... I dont know yet.

5 NYG games are primetime and got tickets for SF game already so Sunday ticket doesnt even apply to 1/3 of season for me which makes it even more overpriced.

Is the quality on Ps3 bad?

I know the on go ticket on my phone and cpu was pretty choppy sometimes.

I need to look into rabbit ear thing to get locals or is that obsolete nowadays?

i just returned the HD antenna to bestbuy....i picked up the weirdest fucking channels. Waste of time. I know my friend in the city says he picks up a bunch of channels (his kid has a tv in his room but he wont buy a box for it so the antenna actually works for him in NYC). It is worth a try....just return it if it sux..

I cant drop cable all together.....I dont want to hassle when the giants and jets are on. fuck though....I am going to miss monday nite football.....fuck.
 
tim also look into playon......I am about to sign up for that soon. I think it is 30 for the year and they have ton of stuff...but you need your pc on with their client on to run it. Try the free trial.
 
Between torrents, streaming and routine downloads the only reason to not cancel is for live sports if you're in the same market as your team.
 
My tv stays on espn for majority of the time. I watch other shows on fox, abc, discovery etc, but I'm not sure if I could get rid of cable or not unless I just had no choice
 
I always consider dropping my satellite service, but I just can't. Live sports, PVR, etc...
I love Netflix, but Netflix in Canada isn't quite what it is in the U.S.
 
Too tough for me too cancel, I am always watching live sports from baseball (yanks, mets, redsox, mlb netowk, espn, fox) to NFL and college (nfl network, redzone, fox, cbs, espn) to soccer (espn, espn2, fox soccer)
