CCM Discussion

Reading all the negative crap about CCM, I haven't even tried to play it yet. EA Sports has essentially made me quit playing franchise mode, because I don't want to get pissed off.

My play now games, while far from perfect, have been fun enough. The weird fact that sliders work different in CCM is just baffling.

All that said, the fact that the Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints play like the 1972 Dolphins (65-35 run/pass) in play now pisses me off too. Thank Christ I can make them use revised playbooks I drew up.

offline CCM is still good tho....most issues are Online.

offline doesnt have any laggy issues.....
although; my Online CC doesnt have as much lag playing the CPU. playing another online gamer H2H online CC, has been very lagyy.

anyway; there are some issues with bth offline and online.....depends which is more tolerated
 
Anyone using the legendary coaches playbooks? Over at OS the guys say they are no good, but, I have just started using them and have found more success on offense than the regular playbooks. I haven't used all of them, but, I have used Lombardi, Walsh and Landry so far. I liked Walsh the best, but, I was still going up and down the field with Lombardi and Landry's books.

Anyone else try them? Specifically Gibbs, Vermeil, Flores, Madden and Billick?
 
I play with Vermeils every once in awhile.. It reminds me of every Chiefs playbook since Madden 2001 or so..

i have only tried Joe Gibbs PB.....obviously; that would be my first choice, lol.
but
it didnt fit my CC with the Redskins roster. altho; i did enjoy using the Counter Treys.....really unique compared to current PB Counter running plays.

WTF happened to the activity in this thread???

Anyway, I am still in my first season with the Cowboys. I have moved on to default All-Madden for gameplay with 15 min qtrs, 13 sec run off, 50 threshold (still thinking of lowering this).

The settings on default All-Madden seem to give a nice variety of games. I played Carolina yesterday and won 17-9 in a defensive battle. Today, I played the Giants and won a shootout 43-38. DeMarco Murray went for 250+ on the ground for me and had runs of 77 and 71 yards. It was nice to see Murray breakout for me. He was struggling as of late and I considered going to Felix Jones as I was having more success with him when he was in the game, but, Murray went off against the G-Men! Also, playing the Giants on All-Madden is no joke...they bring the heat and they are in the backfield pretty quickly.

Next game is a Sunday night affair against the 5-2 Atlanta Falcons. They currently have the 6th ranked offense and 2nd ranked defense, so it should be a good game. I'm looking forward to see how my corners (Carr and Claiborne) play against White and Jones. Claiborne was burned by Victor Cruz on a 73-yard touchdown on the first play of the game against the Giants so I am anxious to see how he fares in man coverage against the Falcons duo.
 
I find myself starting a new one of these every couple days for some reason... I've gotten much better at scouting but no better at defending passes in the air.
 
So after a shoot-out win against the Giants, we beat the Falcons 34-14. The Giants moved the ball up and down the field on us and I expected the Falcons (who had the 6th ranked offense) to do much of the same. However, our D completely shut them down. Julio Jones had just 3 catches and Roddy White had zero catches (and he was playing). My CBs right now are just shutting people down. Morris Claiborne recorded the first INT of his career in this game as well.

Being that I switched to default All-Madden over the last few games has taken some getting used to. Primarily, my offense has struggled a lot in the passing game, but, in the second-half, we kind of broke out and I think I now know how to utilize my passing game with the personnel I have as we scored 24 points in the second-half. We sit at 7-1 right now with our lone loss coming against the Bucs. Up next, we've got Philadelphia who is also 7-1 so it should be a good game.

Some notes from around the NFL at the halfway point of my first year in CCM:

- Ravens, Colts, Jets and Raiders are the division leaders in the AFC
- Packers, Falcons, Cowboys/Eagles (tie) and 49ers are the division leaders in the NFC
- John Skelton has the most passing yards in the NFL
- Drew Brees has the most passing TDs in the NFL
- Adrian Peterson has the most rushing yds in the NFL
- Jamaal Charles has the most rushing TDs in the NFL
- Megatron leads the league in receptions with 75 already!
- Greg Jennings has the most receiving yds in the league
- Scott Fujita has the most tackles in the league
- Sack leader right now is Robert Mathis
- INT leader right now is Eric Wright w/6 INTs
 
FINALLY going to jump into my offline CCM after October 16th when that HUGE patch hits (one we've been waiting for). By that time their should be an updated CCM roster to use as well.

The CCM roster could drop as soon as tomorrow. Looman was asking for people on Twitter yesterday to submit 2 players from their favorite team with 3 years or less in the league and pick one to have an increased development trait and and one to have a decreased trait. He added my suggestion of Randall Cobb to increase and James Starks to decrease on the Packers.
