You just can't pay that out and assume a level of fiscal responsibility to your franchise.

I only care because I'm tired of listening to the constant stream of rumors based on nothing. This Colts' offseason has been pretty terrible in regards to that. Lol at juciy stuff this is football. Less juicy stuff please. The media has done a really poor job imo. It reminds me of the LeBron decision where every mfer in the world had the inside scoop on where he was headed...and it was just a bunch of people guessing/starting drama hoping to get lucky and be correct.

Irsay wants Manning to retire, Manning doesn't want to but is yet to be fully cleared to play, Irsay is finding an exit strategy that saves his public image.

I think he's gone too but there's no incentive to make the decision yet. He isn't due a roster bonus until March and I think they're playing the waiting game to see how much his health improves by then.

By the time Irsay announces it everyone will already know the inevitable, so it won't come across as too bad, which explains why he's waiting. Relating it to highschool/middle school it’s sort of like when you break up with your girlfriend by spreading rumors that you are thinking about doing it, so that when you actually do it she isn’t as pissed and her friends don’t call you a jerk. You can then say, "Its not you it's me"

Addai was one of three Colts players catching passes last week from the four-time league MVP. On Wednesday, he told The Associated Press that Manning is putting some zip on his short passes.

"He's not throwing deep-level passes, but the short stuff is really good enough to play," Addai said.
