The way the Raiders used Russell i compare to how the Ravens used Flacco. They dummied down the offense and they opened it up and let him sling it when they thought it would be necessary. Russell only threw 8 interceptions in 15 games while Cutler threw 18 interceptions in 16 games but that may be the reason why.
EDIT: Plus Russell got sacked 30 times in 2008 and didn't lose any fumbles while in 2008 Cutler was sacked 11 times and lost 2 fumbles.

Russel is safer with the ball but not as productive, both arent very accurate. plus denver threw the ball more than oakland so fewer opportunities for russel to put up numbers

Nothing against the Raiders, yet seeing how McDaniels was able to groom both Brady and Cassel he'll have a field day in developing Cutler. I don't see the Raiders Pass D stopping Marshall or Royal. Maybe one but not both of them. And the Broncos defense can't get much worse, so if they add one more defensive player, they'll have a good enough defense, enough so the Offense doesn't have to carry them all game long. And i highly doubt that the Broncos will have the same amount of RBs on IR this time around.

The Raiders are getting there, They showed flashes of greatness last season. Their O was getting much better since the start of the season, McFadden was getting the hang of the NFL, Fagras is become a great Running back. And Russell is better as well..
As for our D... Top five Secondary in the league.. Top ten Linebacking Core... Top five DE in the league.. May I say more? The Raiders are Developing, With good,soild draft picks.. We are going to be contenders in the AFC West.
