Anyways, the trouble with your explanation is this; as you can clearly see by this thread, having a modicum of respect and treating Ian as a human being is seen as "sucking developer cock" on this site, and nobody's gonna come down on anyone for bashing Ian. Someone comes in this very thread, if the next post is, "Ian, you're a lazy fucking asshole who's fucked up Madden for the past 5 years and if I lived in Orlando I'd rape you and key your fucking car", nobody would say shit. In fact, he'd get thanks from the people who don't have the balls to say what they're thinking.

This community is just MMII, which is why I'm here, but the trade off we have with being able to be totally open is that we get a lot of immaturity and respect is a rare commodity. We're the 4chan of sports gaming.

That said, Ian comes here knowing that, so I guess to a certain extent it's his problem. But I'd really rather see this become a useful forum for passing on our thoughts and ideas rather than a place for people to vent and take out the frustrations on him.

Totally agreed. I love the fact that this forum is so open and you can say pretty much whatever the hell you want. But at the same time, showing some respect can go a long way and doesn't make you a "softy" or whatever the hell you wanna call it.

i think some of you have under estimated lennifer and that fag keegan scott rush in this regaurd; if Ian gets just outright flamed for no reason action will be taken. i would bet my remaining nut on this. if guys wanna say the game sucks, they will probably be ok, but if they just wanna tell Ian they will skull fuck him if he fucks this game up that most likely aint gonna fly, even on the greatest forum in the world.

i still would like to know if the squib kick made it back into the game. please.

How, exactly, is it relevant? If they'd sent a bunch of guys who played the shit out of '09, I'd personally be a bit worried.

Of the 9 guys that went to CD (Dave, The Watcher, LBzrule, Joborule, Kane669, BeZo, Rgiles, Dave, myself), I'd say two (Kane and joborule) probably played '09 extensively.

The guys who played 09 are fans of the series, desperate to play Madden. The more someone plays the game the more flaws they can pick up on. Not really sure how anyone can argue that. Obviously someone who plays the game a lot will know more about the flaws then a guy who didn't give it much of a chance. Hence, not knowing that they added that 1 man return

It's not the fans of the game that they need input from. I played Madden '09... I've played every version of Madden. To this point, I was playing a lot of Madden '08 PC... fact is, if someone liked '09 and is brought in, of what value is he to the average member of this community, who thought '09 was shit?

I don't need to know '09 to make judgment on '10.

I said "I don't play '09", I didn't say I haven't played '09. I don't remember there being a single returner formation in the game, but I'm well aware of the game's problems... and they are legion, so it's very difficult for me to force myself to play it.

The community in general made the game better. I was a sounding board. I spent a lot of hours on OS taking notes before i went to CD, and I looked for specifics the community asked about. While being invited was an honor and absolutely a hell of a lot of fun, we went in representation of the greater community.

That said, I can take some pride in the fact that I found a glitch that probably would have shipped that would have allowed you to get a sack on pretty much every 5 or 7 step drop if you had a fast enough DE.

There's a difference between liking 09 and playing 09 because it's the only football game out there. I'm saying the guys that continued to play the game can offer more then someone who played it a bit, hated it and moved on.

But it isn't the only football game out there. Hell, I'd argue it's barely a football game. More like pinball on grass.

I've been playing 2k5, APF, and Madden '08 community update for PC... all superior games to Madden '09, plus I did play NCAA '09 extensively. There for, I'm aiming higher than someone who played '09 would.

The point isn't to make '10 a better game than '09. The point is to make '10 a perfect game. It doesn't matter if a flaw in '10 is a carry over from '09 or if it is a brand new issue, a flaw is a flaw.

If the online franchise mode is as advertised, I'll probably be playing a lot of madden this year.

However, I remain very cautiously optimistic. I was also very excited last year when online leagues were announced, and those were a complete joke.

I'm of the belief that without any competition in the football gaming industry, EA will never produce another really good cutting edge football game. Hopefully I am wrong. This will be the first year I won't be buying Madden at release. I'll be waiting for the reviews on the online franchise before deciding if I should buy or not.

Glad to see you guys brought back this feature. I found it funny that after it was in the PS2/XBox days that last year in Madden 09 when it was right before halftime or before the end of the game Hammond would even say right before the kickoff, "I would expect them to just squib it here." or something along those lines. Glad we finally can take Hammond's advice again.
