Yeah, Defour's actually deceptively bad compared to how he looks on first glance. Lots of high mental attributes, but he's pretty slow, weak, poor at finishing, and no aerial or defensive ability. Basically a one dimensional playmaker type. I mean, not that there's anything wrong with that, if you have a role that suits that type of player in your formation.
I'm thinking he'd be pretty solid in the 4-3-1-2 formation I run with Palermo as the advanced playmaker-support.
To quote the game:
"The advanced playmaker aims to drop into holes between the opposition's midfield and defence, making himself available for teammates' passes and aiming to turn defence into attack in an instant. With a support duty, the AP will stay in the hole and look to spray passes to support players and forwards."
With his mental attributes/passing ability, I feel like he'd thrive in that role.
