Cahill's playing career is now officially over. He's set a retirement date for June 20th. With 5-6 months left on his present injury, he won't get an opportunity to play again. Neville is also retiring. Both players are going to remain on the coaching staff.

How old is Cahill? I think he played for me on a regular basis on FM11 until he was 35 and then was just an occasional rotational player until he was 37 and retired at 38.

I know last year you could for international players if you were the international coach but I don't know about club. I remember convincing Donovan to come out of international retirement so I could make him the all-time leader in American Caps.

So in save I took over for Philly. I figured I would do MLS for a season since adding and removing is in the game this year. I got Philly in, all thanks to the mighty Freddy Adu but lost in the 2nd round of the play offs.

So now that the MLS season is over I applied for the Hull City Job and the board gave my the choice to resign or apologize. I resigned. Lol.

Now im taking the job at Sheff Wed, only because though St. Ettiene laughed at me when I applied. They are 1-1-13 in France right now. Thats the job I want, but its not lookin to good. So Sheff Wed it is. Lets build something good here.

Finally got a game rolling with Ajax. I'm still tooling with the tactic as much as anything else, but I'm doing pretty well so far. Just lost the first match of the save, going down 3-2 away to Bayern in the first Group Stage match. Still have a chance to make it out of a tough group, which also has Lyon. The league has been a stroll thus far - the toughest match of the season, away to PSV, was a 3-0 win. So far so good....

Injuries are continuing to be a theme with my Everton side. Danny Welbeck was in tremendous form with 10 goals in 15 matches and a 7.49 average rating, before going down with a broken arm, which has ended his season as he's out 5-6 weeks. Already missed the matches against Tottenham and Chelsea, and will miss the last 3 of the season as well.

With 3 matches to go, best case scenario for us now is a 5th place finish and we can't drop any lower than 8th.

Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert are retiring at the end of June in addition to Neville and Cahill. Osman's been added to the coaching staff. Hibbert, isn't a useful coach so he's gone.

Just about through October in the first season. Have only one loss, which was 3-2 away to Bayern in the CL group, plus a 0-0 draw away to Lyon. Everything else has been wins. 7 points up in the Eredivisie already with a game on hand, with a +27 goal difference. Of the 5 goals allowed, 3 came against FC Groningen when the home side went up 3-0 in the first half, I blasted the team at half-time, and they responded by coming back to win 4-3.

While I was tempted to keep the squad as per, I decided to move some players. I sold on El Hamoudi and then van der Wiel when Arsenal unsettled him. I spread the money out and made some great buys. The keys ones have been Gylfi Sigurosson, Willfried, Xherdan Shaqiri, and Ivan Bandalovski. Bandalovski was supposed to be versatile cover for both fullback spots. Instead he became a key player, average 7.79 in 9 league matches with 4 assists. Sigurosson was a luxury buy, since Eriksen is pretty capable, but Sigurosson has 5 goals and 6 assists in 8 league matches, with an 8.09 average. Eriksen plays a bit deeper on the pitch, where his runs slice up the defense. Wilfried "only" has 4 es goals, but 7 assists and a 7.86 average. He has a tendency to hold up the ball, which doesn't really fit his tactical settings or skills, but he's contibuting. Shaqiri was even more of a luxury buy than Sigurosson and I only spent the money after vdW left. Playing on the right wing cutting inside, he's been lethal - 6 matches and 3 sub appearances resulting in 8 goals and a 7.93 average.

Its been a really fun game so far. Unless the injuries pile up, winning Holland shouldn't be too tough but even just getting out of the CL Group is gonna be tough.
