The Bosingwa card I felt was a bit harsh. Looked to me like SWP was the one who pulled him down

Drogba went in two footed with his studs up. He got the ball, but those are the challenges that need to be driven out from football
 
That ref was terrible. The PK was iffy at best, Luiz was fouled out of the box before giving Helguson the slightest of nudges. And then he didn't make the same call throughout the rest of the game. Bosingwa's red wasn't even a foul. Drogba's was understandable, but he didn't even go in hard. The barrage of yellows was unnecessary.

Even then we dominated the second half down two men and Anelka should have equalized (twice).
 
Watched the Man City/Wolverhampton game last night on my DVR. I was really impressed with the play of Luca Scapuzzi. He scored a goal, but, nearly had two. His composure in the box was what impressed me most. He made sure to get himself in the best position to shoot instead of rushing the shot and firing it over the top bar or extremely wide like you sometimes see.
 
Meh, happens every year in one of the top leagues. Not really much different to what Newcastle are doing right now, expect normal service to resume shortly when various beatings are dished out as they sink to a still better then expected 9th place finish.

Yeah, its not uncommon to see a mid-level club have a good run for part of a season. Levante aren't really a mid-level club, though. They have an operating budget below most second division clubs and a squad that was built by spending almost nothing. And its not just topping the table a third of the way into the season, but being undefeated with a win over Real Madrid. A club like Newcastle might not spend much (cuz Ashley's a twat) but they at least spend something. This is like a club who couldn't spend to compete at the Championship level managing promotion and then topping the Prem table, in addition to taking a win over Chelsea or United.

I obviously have no expectations that Levante will keep it up, but to even be at this point is impressive in my opinion.
 
The MLS playoff system, can someone please explain it? Can someone explain why its called the Conference Semis, but NY and LA are playing, and Colorodo and Columbus are playing? Sounds dumb.
 
And why the fuck can I not find the damn C-Bus and Colorado game on TV? So fucking stoooopid.

It's stupid as fuck and all MLS fans fucking hate it, that I assure you.


Top 3 in the West are seeded 1,2,3 in the West conference, same goes for East.

Next best 4 overall are the "wildcard clubs"

In the wildcard round these 4 clubs play. 7 hosting 10 and 8 hosting 9. The lowest remaining seed after these 1 game playoffs goes to play the top club from the season (LA Galaxy) and the higher seed plays the other conference winner (Sporting KC).

NYRB being the 10th seed and beating 7th seeded Dallas is why they play LA.

3 of the 4 quarterfinal teams on each conference bracket are the top 3 as mentioned before, the other two remaining spots can go to any team through the wildcard stage.

Quarter finals are 2 legs, Semi finals are 1 and the Final is 1.

Just unfortunate that a big city game with two of the biggest markets in two separate conferences are going to meet this weekend. :smh:

That wasn't I result I expected. Quite pissed now that I didn't get to see the match. RvP is playing out of his mind right now, which is fantastic... but also leaves me worried for what the Gunners will do when he gets injured.
