Chris: College football is finally here. Welcome to Papa John's Stadium for the Battle of the Governor's Cup between Kentucky (Crowd boos) and Louisville. (Crowd cheers) I know...I know, this is not exactly the quality game you expect on Gameday but give us a break. It's the first week of the season. We won't spend too much time analyzing games today. We'll spend most of our time previewing the upcoming season. So here is how the preseason rankings look to start the season.

So now it is time to make some predictions that are sure to go wrong. It's time to make the preseason pick of who we think will be in the National Title game. Kirk, you are up first.
Kirk: I have to go with my Buckeyes. They have probably the best defense in the nation this year and I think they get through unscathed where they play Nebraska for the title game. The Cornhuskers are probably the most talented team in the nation but Ohio State wins.
Lee: Come on Kirk. You can't pick your own school. That's not fair. Anyways. There's no way Ohio State gets through the Big Ten undefeated. They might lose to Michigan and they will still have to get by Penn State. Not gonna happen. But you are right about Nebraska. They get through the Big 12 undefeated and play Notre Dame for the championship. Now, I don't think the Irish are that great but they have an easy schedule. They should only be challenged by Michigan and USC, but even USC is not the same team they were. But the Cornhuskers destroy the Irish in the title game.
Chris: Interesting guys. I'm going the same way Lee went but in a different direction. First, I think Corso is right about Notre Dame. As long as they don't have a melt down like they've had each of the last few seasons, they should finish undefeated. I'm going to go out on a limb though with my other team. A bit of a sleeper here. I'm going with Oregon State to finish undefeated. The Pac-10 is not very good at all this year and their non-conference schedule is not very tough at all. People are saying that the Beavs might have one of the best defenses in the nation. Also, don't forget Oregon State only had one loss last year against UCLA in the final minutes. So it is not as crazy as it sounds. However, the Beavs get killed by the Irish in the BCS Championship.
Kirk: You're forgetting that they'll be without Nolen though. There's no way Oregon State replicates the success they had last year. They'll have a great defense but I'm not sure they'll get by USC, UCLA, or Oregon. They have too many holes on offense.
Lee: Kirk, you're just bitter about Oregon State beating your Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl last season. Come on. You can't hold a grudge forever.
Chris: Alright guys. That's enough. I'd like to continue this topic but we've got to make the picks for the game today. The headgear is here so it's time to make your picks.
Lee: Oh that's right, I forgot about this game.
Kirk: These are two teams that will be lucky to be in a bowl game at season's end, but that being said, I look for Kentucky QB Nick Brooks (90ovr) to be the difference maker for the Wildcats as they win handily today. (Crowd boos!)
Lee: Yep. I'm with you Kirk. Kentucky has a 5th year senior QB Nick Brooks (90ovr) and Louisville has a true freshman QB Chris Johnson (72ovr). I think that speaks for itself. I will say that Louisville is a better overall football team but the Cards can't overcome the inexperience they have at QB. Kentucky wins decisively. (Lee puts on the Wildcat headgear as the crowd boos.)
