Kalamazoo, MI - The Beavers got to play what amounted to another scrimmage game against the Broncos of Western Michigan. Though the Broncos are not ranked last like last week's Navy Midshipmen, Western Michigan did come in with a triple-digit ranking. If the Bronco fans thought they might stand a chance against #2 Oregon State, they were quickly forced to accept reality when OSU HB John Johnson, on the first play from scrimmage, went 69 yards to the house.
7-0 OSU. Johnson commented after the game, "No disrespect to Western Michigan but I felt like I was right back in my JUCO days in California."

It would only be the beginning of what was going to be a long day in Kalamazoo. The Beavers would get back on the scoreboard with a more methodical method on their next possession in which QB Ty Moore hit TE Adam Banks in the middle of the end zone for a 15-yard TD.
14-0 OSU.

The next Oregon State possession saw HB Terrence Horner come in to spell Johnson only to score from 20 yards away on an outside run to make it
21-0.

The beat down continued into the 2nd quarter though Western Michigan did actually make a stop that forced Oregon State to attempt a 50-yard field goal that had the distance but sailed wide right. Which finally gave the Bronco fans something to cheer for. However, their enthusiasm did not last long because WMU QB Mike Bellamy decided to challenge Thorpe and Bednarik award winning CB Deon Weatherford, who already had two pick-sixes on the season. Weatherford was glued to his man and easily made a play on the ball. Making the interception and nobody could catch him so Weatherford took it all the way back for already his 3rd pick-six of the season.
28-0 OSU.

The onslaught continued as OSU HB John Johnson hurdled a defender at the line of scrimmage, then eluded a couple of Broncos and was off to the races. Only to be taken down just short of the goal line on a 29 yard gain. Horner came in and vultured the 1-yard TD to put OSU up
35-0 before the end of the 1st half.
Though Western Michigan finally countered back on the ensuing kickoff when HB Matt Turner somehow eluded a few OSU bad tackling attempts, and showed some impressive speed to return it all the way back for a 93-yard touchdown to make it
35-7.

But the Beavers quickly responded by getting into the red zone when Moore connected with WR Brian Horn for a 29-yard gain. Not long after, HB John Johnson ran right up the middle. Nobody could stop Johnson until he had crossed the goal line for a 12-yard TD. It was
42-7 OSU at halftime.

Western Michigan could only hope now to just not get embarrassed but a promising Bronco drive was abrubtly ended when red shirt freshman OSU OLB Dustin Bower made an interception in Beaver territory and returned it all the way into the red zone. Where HB John Johnson found the end zone for the third time when he powered across the goal line on a 14-yard scamper to put the Beavers up
49-7.

Heading into the 4th quarter, the only question was how much longer would Mike Riley keep the starters in? After Moore connected with TE Adam Banks for a 2nd time on a short playaction 4-yard pass to make it
56-7, all of the starters were pulled from the field. The final score in this beat down would be
59-14.
