While that could be true, the doctors made the call. Usually that means the injury is too bad for a player to go out there. Say he injures it more..out until next year, and possibly more.

The Bears are more comfortable going with Cutler than Hanie or a backup next season.

We'll see how serious this knee injury is, but it seems like if it didn't require him to leave the field to get treatment, it wasn't that bad.

He wanted to come back in and play, but the Doctors said no. He has a torn ligament, and couldn't put pressure on his foot.

Doctors made the call because of his future. No point of having him go out there and hurt his knee and possibly hurting his career.

Carson Palmer and Tom Brady tore ligaments. Cutler moaned on the sideline and looked fine. If he tore a ligament in his knee, he would NOT have been outside moping around. I've torn my ACL before, it's painful as all hell and I couldn't get up on my own power.

Cutler lost a fight to some sideline doctors.
