Oh sorry i forgot about them. I still think most of those teams would be better off doing it then the Dolphins. I think to be good you do need two good backs. To be great and be able to utilize all of the wildcat plays you'll need 3 capable backs (ex: Chargers, Cowboys, Raiders, Dolphins) Then a very good offensive line is also necessary.

In madden i don't think the Dolphins would be extremely effective in the Wildcat anyways. I don't think so because they don't have any real fast RB and they don't have a RB that can throw it too like Darren McFadden

It's funny but there is no mention of the team that thrived in it. I would easily put the Dolphins ahead of almost all those teams you listed. Just because a team has two good .RBs doesn't mean they'd be effective running the wildcat

Very true. Atlanta tried a couple of times during the course of the season and failed mostly every time. We had a few big plays off of the HB direct snap, but everything else was just a waste of a down.

That wouldnt be fair though since other teams ran it. SF ran it pretty often with Michael Robinson

Dudes were using Gator Heavy with Jeremy Maclin packaged in as "Speed QB" (the package for Harvin that Florida uses).

I can see it now....only with Madden.

While we are on the topic of the Wildcat.. I always wondered why the Titans didn't throw Vince Young out there for a special package with some variations of this offense. Having him and Chris Johnson back there could be a scary set for a few plays.

Maybe someone doesn't want to use miami's playbook (if that's the only one that has it) just for the wildcat formation. Every playbook doesn't have the same formations/plays

Why would you be dying to have the wildcat in the game? I'm a Fins fan so of course I want to use my team as true to life as possible. The wildcat was a huge part of 2008.

You are. I never called my game BS. I never openly admitted to anything. You insinuate that I acknowledge that freestyle play is worse than sim. I user catch. Okay? Is that okay with you? Play more coverage. I blitz heavily. Okay? Is that okay with you? Get the ball out faster. Nothing I do is not capable of being countered. If you are having trouble stopping it, I'm going to keep going to it....

The rocket catch takes advantage of the AI just as much as an out route does versus man coverage. That is a fact, and is as undebatable as it gets (as for as Madden '09 goes).

To each their own. But the only BS is when the two play styles collide and one play style (sim or freestyle) decides to make excuses as to why they lost...

*Note that I never called the sim community BS. I simply call the attitudes of a lot of the sim players BS.

As for you sim guys, you can have your cake, but you better eat it too. Because you are bound to get a heavy dosage of the Wildcat if EA screws up the AI on it.

They have been working on AI a lot lately and having the most 'sim' game as possible. I am confident that if the Wildcat is in Madden NFL 10, that it will work correctly.

Not necessarily because they'll just ban it from the league.

That's the thing about SIM players, majority of them just join leagues so they don't have to worry about being "cheesed".

Well for starters procedural awareness. Then the man coverage AI they have worked on. Almost everything they have told us they had something involving the AI. They also have said time and time again they are trying to make it as sim a game as possible. Hell in their mission statement they said everything you see on sunday, you'll see it in madden. That is their goal.

The Procedural Awareness is apart of the AI. Then they even said they improved the man coverage AI. But mainly i think the Procedural Awareness will take care of a lot. They have worked on gameplay, with layered blending and a lot of the interaction stuff. If you look at a lot of what they've done it is trying to make everything work properly.

Madden have let me down 1 too many times for me to have any faith in what they put out.

Madden 09 was the start of Ian Cummings and from 08 to 09 he did a good job. He took out a countless number of glitches and when there was a glitch in 09 he took it out as soon as possible. Now that he has been the lead designer of 10 since the start he'll be able to do what he did last year making the game as least glitchy as possible and now he's taking it a step further by not only taking out glitches but actually making the game more sim. NFL Head Coach 09 was a great game and now the designers of that game are working on Madden 10 too. David Ortiz is out and a whole bunch of new designers are in and you can't say they aren't doing a great job. They started releasing information 4 months earlier than they did last year. Last year the first update was i think at the end of April. Have some optimism.
