No, they weren't dude, and it drives me crazy that Parcells is regarded as this mythical football God when if you look at that Dolphins team he ran he fucked up on like every possible level. They were maybe a step above a bottom feeder. He missed on EVERY major roster decision he made, the idiot owner spent 2 years openly trying to replace the coach Parcells left behind, and only through some miracle I dont even understand has Jeff Ireland survived. The only taste of relevance that team had was for the 5 minutes Chad Pennington's arm wasn't fucked up.
The Cowboys never got anywhere under him either. They got a big huge tony romo bad hold and got a "no, really, I ain't goin out like this" visit from Vinny Testaverde. in the case of both Pennington and Vinny they were earlier successes wheeled in to bail him out of current failures. You always heard about Parcells being loyal to his guys. I always took it as "because hes too much of an overrated douchebag to consistently develop new talent".
His Jets tenure, I can't really argue with, that was a roster that had alot of success even years after he was gone because of guys he brought in and developed. And his Giants work IS pretty legendary. But that guy was a fucking fraud collecting a paycheck his last two stops and I think this soapbox you got me on helped me decided who really WAS the most overrated coach ever.
