C'mon man. I don't hate the 360 at all. My personal opinion is that the PS3 is the better console. That doesn't mean by any stretch I "hate" my 360. I'm playing Metro 2033 and a few arcade games on my 360 right now and LBP, NCAA, Madden and a few PSN games on my PS3. If anything my Wii is the only console I really don't care much for and have been neglecting. I honestly can't rememeber the last time I turned it on although I have been thinking about popping in SMG2 or A Boy and His Blob.

I also love it how every one loves to take jabs at the so called PS3 "fanboys" around here. I know I for one say negative shit about the PS3 all the time but you never hear a peep from the Xbots. Then I say something negative about the 360 (and in this case it wasn't even negative), I was just pointing out it's not the best thing since sliced bread, all the Xbots label it as a PS3 fanboy rant.

Get over yourselves just because everyone doesn't slob on the 360's knob.

I'll say it before and I'll say it again, if I were a PS3 fanboy I would've gotten rid of my 360 ages ago. I'm a fan of video games, period. I play the shit out of them and I like having the options to play whatever game I want. Just because I like one console more than the other doesn't mean I'm a fanboy. Again, look up the word "fanboy" before you start using it so liberally.

Edit: Not to mention the game I've probably sunk the most hours into over the past few years, Borderlands, was on 360.

And yes, as of late, I've been buying mostly all multi-platform games on PS3 because all of my close friends and family have a PS3. Only a couple also have 360's.

I have both consoles and love them both.
They have different purposes, but the ps3 has nice exclusives like MLB The Show that make me damn glad I have it.

after i got my elite back in march i traded in the old console and got $40 for it. they new it was rrod, but gamestop was taking them.

now that may have changed based on what twigg said below.

I'm aware that I'm probably in the minority, but in my experience, the 360's reliability is much greater than the PS3's. I had a launch 20GB PS3 first. The blu-ray drive in it failed exactly one week after the one year warranty expired. I called Sony and of course they wouldn't give me a break and wanted me to pay $200 to get it fixed. I did and they sent me back a refurbished 40GB which just about sent me through the roof.

I kept it for about 6 months before eBaying it. I then purchased a brand new 80GB. Exactly 1 year and 5 days later the exact same thing happened - it stopped reading discs because the drive broke. Once again, Sony would not honor it. They said I'd have to pay $150 to get it fixed. I took it to Gamestop and actually got full price because they didn't check to see if it reads discs.

I ended up scoring a new slim PS3 about 2 weeks before they even launched. Guess. What. It failed 2 days ago - stopped reading discs. I called Sony and naturally, they would not honor it. It's out of the one year warranty by 2 days and they wouldn't do it. That's 3 PS3s breaking within a week of the warranty having expired and Sony didn't fix a single one of them.

Granted, I'm sure my particular case is very rare. I've actually never had a 360 break on me, but both systems do clearly have problems. Of course, I remember a good many people having issues with PS2s back in the day, and I used mine every day for 4 or 5 years and it never acted up once.

I'll say this much about the new 360 - the damn thing is quiet.
I played Madden without installing it to the hard drive ... and not a peep.
The disc drive was silent. I couldn't believe it.

It is very quiet. I've had mine about 2 days now. I've noticed one thing about it that I don't like, and I don't know if it's an isolated case or all the new slims are like it - but it blows out a TON of hot air from the vents. Kind of worries me a bit.
