As expected - A Martz/Cutler offense exposed the Green Bay Packers.

I was very impressed by Cutler tonight - his decisions, his accuracy, and the way he didn't go back to being the Cutler of old, when the game was getting tough. I fully expect this offense to get better as the weeks go by. This has '99 Rams written all over it, and they have the quarterback to run the show.

If Martz wasn't the O coordinator, it would be a "lulz" performance by Cutler, and then followed by some racist joke towards Lovie.

Cutler threw 3 balls, that were intercepted, and really piss poor Cutler type throws might I add, that were called back on penalties. He sure look great... Reminiscent of a 99 Kurt Warner led offense for sure.

Packers fucked themselves over time and time again with stupid penalties.

Peppers, Urlacher, Briggs, Hester... Good fucking game to those guys, they played well.

He made a couple bad decisions. The throw at the end was designed to draw a PI, because of the inexperienced Packers secondary, so blaming that on Cutler isn't fair. Jay Cutler did what he was told to do, and it worked. It may look like a bad decision on his part, but it was a decision that won them the game. Mike Martz isn't your typical OC - it's almost like a chess match to him. There's very few DCs in this game that can play a full game of chess with Mike Martz, and Green Bay doesn't have one of them.

Jay does still hang onto the ball a bit too long, and still has the tendency to look deep way too often. He needs to fix that sooner rather than later. This offense will only get better as the weeks go by, and if Chicago can somehow convince Martz to stay for next season, the offense will be downright scary.

But the pick to Olsen was a miss communication, and the other pick doesnt exsist. Not only that, but it has Zero to do with Jay decision making/bad throw as he was murdered and the ball came out lame duck style.

Cutler is doing a lot with a team that essentially has nothing on offence.

Bad O-Line, below average receivers, average RB.

You can hate Cutler all you want, but putting his numbers up with that personnel is nothing short of miraculous.

I still don't buy the Bears as even a remotely elite team.

By season's end, Green Bay will win the division. It's only one game.

That said, they need to cut out all the stupid penalties. And in Green Bay later this season, the O-Line won't get all those false start penalties at Lambeau vs Chicago.

IIRC, Packers' defense gave up a single score tonight. Limited the Bears to something like 60 or so rushing yards, and 200+ passing yards. Shockingly similar to their performance against the Cardinals in the WC last season.

The "new and improved'' Jay Cutler looked a lot like the old Jay Cutler to me at times.

I guess feel good about your 3-0 record, Bears fans. Because a win is a win.

On offense, both the Packers and Bears will apparently go as far as their passing games this season.

I forgot about that backpedal pass he throws all the time.. He can be a monster rolling out of the pocket. Shanahan would roll him out all the time and have him just chuck it yards on the regular. Great talent, if Martz can minimize his mistakes he could be great. The Bears will never win a Super Bowl with Lovie Smith as a head coach though. Never..

Like Dick Vermeil said - hiring Mike Martz was the best thing Lovie's done since getting the job. But how long does this thing stay together? This was Lovie's last chance in Chicago - he either makes the postseason or he's gone. Now, with that said, let's say Chicago makes the playoffs, can you still get rid of Lovie Smith? I doubt it. Can Chicago convince Martz to stay, with head coaching spots probably opening up in 2011? It's hard to see Mike Martz staying second banana, even under Lovie Smith, one of his best friends. The players also love the guy, even the Bears defense has been praising Mike Martz. This would be a great situation if the roles were reversed - Martz at HC, Lovie at DC, because I find it hard to believe that Martz's ego will allow him to stay with Chicago. Mike Martz wouldn't even be with Chicago right now, if he had gotten the job he really wanted: Head Coach for Buffalo.

Of course, if Chicago fails to make the playoffs, none of it matters - the entire staff will be gone.

Regardless of the play of Jay Cutler people seem to be ignoring the fact that the Bears D has played pretty well so far this year. Both the run and pass D have been so far improved. Even Rodgers, who usually hooks up with 3 or 4 deep passes a game on us was stuck dinking and dunking all game. And i don't know if we've held Greg Jennings to so few yards and catches in years.
