Brees' spot is a bit iffy, coming off 2012, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Top 3 could be interchangeable easily, no doubt. Not wedded to that order.

Not even that.

Brady/Peyton/Rodgers/Brees (whatever order)

Ben/Eli

then you have Flacco/Ryan/etc.

Stats and awards don't tell the entire story...you have to watch these guys to fully judge them, and too many of the casual fans and media want to throw around the "elite" label too loosely.

But here's the thing - Flacco keeps making the playoffs. Every friggin' year, including last year where he would have made the Super Bowl if Lee Evans holds on to that ball. Evans dropped an easier ball than David Tyree.

The Ravens keep making the playoffs. Put Joe Flacco on the Jaguars and they still probably don't top 6 or so wins. Put Peyton Manning on the Jaguars and I would put money on them making the playoffs.

For that matter, what during the entire playoff run didn't impress you about Flacco?

I include Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger as QBs who deserve to be considered to be elite, stats or not. Seven QBs deserve to be in the conversation as "elite."

After that you have the Matt Schaubs and Tony Romos of the world. As of now, Flacco is closer to those guys than he is to the elite 4 IMO.

How so? The Colts won 11 games coming off a 2 win season, and Luck had seven game winning drives. The Ravens won 12 games with one of the most talented rosters in the league. Luck was the reason the Colts won so many games. He was the heart of that offense, all while having an offensive coordinator who forced him to drop back 50+ times a game and getting his ass knocked down play after play. Again, if you put Flacco on the Colts, I don't think they sniff the playoffs.
