If he wanted to stay in Cleveland, then why did he dodge the Cavaliers all summer? Makes no sense.

He dodged them when he knew he couldn't get Bosh to Cleveland. Everyone begging for a championship would have.

Obviously Riley wanted to get that opportunity and that's just being a great GM and putting the pieces together to win a championship. Everything had to work out perfectly in order to get all these guys on the same team and that's something nobody could have planned in 06-07. People continue to forget that LeBron was ready to resign with the Cavs had he been able to lure Bosh to Cleveland. If Cleveland was a good place for top free agents, we wouldn't even be talking about this. He wanted to stay in Cleveland, he just couldn't get the guys he needed to bring a championship to the franchise. He wanted to be a Cavalier, but he wanted championships more, so he made his decision when Bosh and Wade signed in Miami and he knew there was no one left in the market that could help him bring a championship to the Cavs.

I guess I just don't understand this chest pounding notion of winning "on your own". The idea is to win, and assembling a great roster certainly increases those odds.

Magic played with 2 or 3 hall of famers, Bird played with 4 or 5, Jordan played with a top 50 hof'er for six titles and Rodman for three of those six, Thomas had Rodman and Dumars, Kobe won nothing without Shaq or Gasol, so what's the big deal?

These three guys all took less money to win. We rip athletes all the time for doing the opposite. Fans are hypocrites who will never be happy. LeBron shit on Cleveland, but if Miami wins titles, there is nothing cheap about it. I think the Lakers making a lopsided joke of a trade for Gasol is far more "cheap" than three players sacraficing money/stats/personal accolaides for titles.

Its time to lay off LeBron. They still have to win the games.

Obviously "The Decision" was a stupid idea. I don't think anyone will disagree with that (Except the boys and girls club). Could he have handled the situation better? Of course. But you can't hate the guy for wanting to win.

I wasn't answering the question, I was commenting on the statement posted. Players talk about playing together every year, this is nothing new. The only thing new about it is the fact that it actually happened.

I'm not assuming anything, simply stating what I've read and the words from LeBron's mouth. He said himself he would have stayed with Cleveland had he been able to lure Bosh in.

LeBron James wants to stay in Cleveland and he wants Chris Bosh to join him. That, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard. According to Broussard, part of the reason there has been a delay in LeBron's announcement is he is trying to convince Bosh to come to Cleveland with him.

Plus want to go more devious with it? Lebron leaks that knowing already Bosh won't want to come to Cleveland...based on numerous conversations with him. Therefore when Lebron leaves, like he knows he is going to that he can simply pass the buck back to Cleveland and say "Hey, you couldn't get me the guy I wanted" Knowing the whole time it wasn't an issue or option.

They were asking Bosh to Cleveland questions at the DEADLINE and Bosh said he wouldn't join.

After reading all of these posts I did a little research and discovered that all 3 players are represented by the same agency, CAA. With that being the case I'm sure this was discussed and decided upon months before they all actually hit free agency. It seems to me that Lebron knew what he wanted to do all along but was scared to face the fans in Cleveland.

LeBron wasn't originally destined for Miami. If Wade and/or Bosh went to NY, Chicago, or NJ, LeBron would've followed.

LeBron was going to follow one of them(pref. Bosh) But in this case, he followed both to the same squad.
