Josh Freeman vs. Mark Sanchez

I guess it must have been Revis or Tomlinson or the foot licker who made all of those big throws in the clutch at the end of games all year long. It must have been the Jets fantastic defense that completed that great pass to Edwards at the end of the Jets/Colts playoff game to set up the game winning FG.

Sanchez has been nothing but money at the end of games, and seems to play his best football at the end of tight games. Chalking up his success to "great defense and a good running game" is typical lazy, casual fan BS analysis. He's a proven playoff winner who rises to the occassion. Freeman hasnt done shit, aside from one good statistical season. Coming back to beat the Panthers or Rams in October doesnt compare to the things Sanchez has done.

How anyone can conclude that Freeman is a much better player at this point is beyond my understanding.

As for his rookie year, yea, tough sledding last season with no Steven Jackson to help. Freeman got a running game and things got a whole lot easier all of a sudden. Not to mention the statistic they threw out on playbook about %75 (give or take) of Bradords passes being throw 10 yards or shorter. Pretty hard to look awful taking that into consideration.

i think freeman is better. i think sanchez benefits from great talent around him. Sure sanchez has made some clutch plays and done a great job managing that team.

But imo, there is something to be said for elevating others players to a higher level and thats what freeman does. Sanchez seems to sleepwalk thru games at times only to wake up at the end and be lucky enough to still have a shot. But look at the title game....he didnt have the luck of the dee in that game and look what happened.....a 24-0 hill to climb. yeah he almost got them out of it

Let's chalk all of that up to the Jets defense, though. The QB, the most important position on the field, has nothing to do with that. Explain what you have seen from Freeman, demeanor wise, that compares to that. And that's just this year. Sanchez won two road playoff games last year, too.

Go ahead and talk about Freeman's regular season combacks, and I can match you with Sanchez regular season comebacks. He had a bunch this year. If Freeman is "Captain Clutch", what does that make Sanchez? He does it in far more meaningful games.

The fact that you ignore the extreme advantages (at almost every position and coaching) Sanchez and the Jets have over Freeman and the Bucs, is baffling... I would hope someone of your intellect would be able to see the whole breakdown, as it is almost never as cut and dry as you are making it out to be... Sanchez had 6 game winning drives this season, all in instances when that great talented defense, that he is suposedly carried by, gave up a late lead. One was @ PIT, the best defense in the league. One was in the playoffs, @ IND. That, to me, is demeanor and makeup.

Freeman needs to do more that one good statistical year to stack up to what Sanchez has accomplished. Sanchez is hardly 'Trent Dilfer', he goes out and wins games, under adverse situations that Freeman hasnt even faced yet.

Not once have I downplayed the significance of what Sanchez has done in those games, but you can not deny that the better coaching/players/front office that he has around him as furthered his confidence in being able to make those throws without consequence... However, in that win over Pitt that you include on Sanchez's docket, the Jets offense scored 13 points and 276 total yards against a defense missing its best player (as well as its heart and soul)... I'm just saying, its not as cut and dry as some of you guys make it out to be (but at least W2B isnt a stat whore like most of you retards)...

You have to run to set up the pass and vice versa, and I'm certain a large amount of those run plays came from Freeman making an audible, checking from a pass to a run... As for the defense, they did play well, but disregarding the offensive efficiency (#8 in 3rd down conversions) and lack of giveaways (#4) by the Freeman led offense is a bit shortsighted...

I don't care about draft position, and neither should you.

I wouldn't switch them, but the Jets are not exactly the '99 Rams. The Bucs have mediocre skill guys with little depth, the Jets have slightly better skill guys and good depth. Neither team has top ten guys at any position.

Do you think there is a huge difference between Edwards & Williams? Between Winslow & Keller (Winslow is better in this case)? Blount & LT? The only huge advantage is the Jets depth.
