I think the whole game reminds me of Heavy Rain, especially the last Homicide case with the 'Go her and investigate, then run for your life, investigate, run for your life, etc.

Finally got a chance to play this game. I'm liking the game, I just don't know if I'm going to have the time to sit through and play the whole thing.

The Fallen Idol case seemed to take forever. Is this one of the longer cases? If most are like this, I got no shot in finishing this game...lol. Just don't have the time too.

Some of the cases are long, but making your partner drive reduces the time for each case a fair amount.

I knew what was coming when I picked up the newspaper detailing how Roy was going to screw me in the end.

The part when Phelps fucked Elsa was rushed but Team Bondi probably fleshed out the details of their relationship when they put on the DLC for the Robbery and Theft desk(s).

Roy got the pics and shipped them to Phelps' family and kept a copy for all the corrupt assholes at the station to pin on him.

It sucks but it's either that or the entire LAPD eats a dick because the Commissioner can't keep it in his pants.

...now it's off to figure out who "The Gas Man" is on the Arson cases.

I think I'm on the third Arson case, I know I need about 8 or 9 more street crimes and two more newspapers. I bet I missed at least one somewhere.

Hopefully I can wrap the cases tonight and work on the newspapers, film reels, locations and maybe the vehicles.

 

Up until the end of the last case I was still hoping that the whole Cole cheating on his wife thing was bullshit. I was hoping he was just using her as an informant but after seeing that cutscene that obviously isn't the case.

You can enter a free roam mode from the case folders in the main menu to complete all of the street crimes and find collectibles. I think each division (Traffic, Homicide, etc.) has its own set of street crimes, and when you enter each respective free roam you'll be alerted if you've finished all of the street crimes for that particular division.

I'm not sure that Cole's time in Burglary would coincide with his affair with Elsa though considering he was assigned to Burglary before Homicide and (I think) the affair started while he was in Vice.

Wow, talk about some bullshit. I guess I'm right at the end of the game, going through the sewers/tunnels. I get to the part right after you find the

 

flamethrower and the water is rising. Somehow I fall under water, which obviously isn't supposed to happen. I have to restart and it takes me all the way back to the beginning of the case.

Bullshit.

I guess now it's time to clean up all the shit I missed. I found one film reel on the last case. LOL.

I think it's mainly because the newspapers play a pretty integral part to telling the full story. They're almost impossible to miss if you do any investigating whatsoever.

 

As for the Cole cheating thing, I thought it was waaaaaay too forced. That was probably the only part of the story that I didn't particularly care for. Him cheating would have been fine if they would have at least given us a couple scenes with his wife and kids to give us some more background.

Maybe I just wasn't paying attention enough but the scene before Cole goes to Elsa's (where Cole and Elsa are talking about a case) gave us no signs that they had a little fling going on. I didn't see any sexual tension or anything. I think if Team Bondi would have given us a little clue, Cole cheating would have been presented much better.

That's why I thought they were just trying to set us up and make it look like something it wasn't...but nope.

I'm stuck at 38/40 street crimes right now. Apparently the crimes only appear at certain times of the day so I just have to sit and twiddle my thumbs I guess. Boo. The last two crimes are spread between two different desks too.
