i got bored driving from one side of the map to the other to do the side missions.

I always have my partner drive them. I've driven maybe four missions and I'm on disc 3. Even with the siren, traffic is terrible and the AI drivers don't get out of the way, so I just avoid that for the better mission rating.

I gotta say...

 

Playing as Kelso for most of the Arson Desk cases was cool in a "We know you've been getting bored picking up random things off the ground... here's a few gun sections!" type of way.

I dig that the guy was take-no-shit in his way of getting to the core of the Building Development scam but with the ending...

I felt bad that after all that work I did with Cole, he went out with a whimper in that sewer tunnel.

I'm not getting anymore DLC cases so Det. Phelps is going to have to go on in old case files or Street Crimes.

Good game overall but depending on what you want out of your games (an experience, a getaway or both), this one might only be a rental despite the amount of work put into it.

Yeah, but then you miss a lot of dialogue between the partners and you also miss out on being able to do the side street crimes.

not that concerned...you can go back and do that stuff if need be....its not like you need to level up to be able to do main missions. They are purely optional.

I started playing the DLC cases and finished collecting the last 20 or so cars to get my platinum.

Welp, got through 2 of the last 3 cases, and also finished the Nicholson Electroplating case, that one was fun. Just one more case to go. Then I'll try to finish up all of the other crap while we wait for the next DLC case.

Going back and 5-starring every case that I didn't get the first time around.

Man, I love this game. I had forgotten most of the cases by now, so it was fun to re-do them. Kinda like revisiting some old TV shows. I could see myself playing (or watching someone else play) these for years to come.

Playing this game right now I'm probably 1/2 through the vice desk.

Pros:
Interesting game mechanic
Interesting setting

Cons:
-Too much handholding. I turned off auto-aim, turned off the clue music helpers, the clue hints, action skip etc. and it still feels like they're holding my hand throughout the game.
-Too linear, can't really fail, just get different case ratings.
-Side missions are repetitive. Don't like the hidden cars I've found and have no idea how to keep them even if I like one. So I've just been letting my partner drive.
-A lot of the time if I choose doubt or lie he'll say something completely off the wall I didn't expect.

Solid probably like a 7/10. Better rental than buy. Instead of focusing so much on an open world I wish they would've made the cases more open instead.

I still haven't had a case where I've missed more than 1 clue. I usually get 14/15 16/17, whatever. And that's with me not using intuition points to reveal clues.

Not trying to make it sound like I'm an expert or anything...just disappointed that the game goes out of it's way to make sure I find everything.

Yeah, but how have you done in the interrogations? They are the meat of the game and the most difficult part, confusing game design and all.

Pretty good overall. Messed up a few but even if you butcher one they'll just threaten to make you work street crimes w/o actually doing it. I think this would've been a better use of the street crimes honestly.

No. I found it pretty hard to actually apprehend them most of the time TBH.

Yeah, just kill them. That was the biggest disconnect in the game for me. Cole is this straight laced, by the books cop yet he ends up racking up the death toll with reckless abandon on those side missions.
