Right, the game connection is only as good as the weakest link....but your connection is never going to be the weakest link with those results. Pretty much every major ISP is going to be good. It's some of these smaller regional carriers that over subscribe their network and have poor peering arrangements in place with the tier 1 networks that typically cause issues. That is not always the case though. You have to figure it out through the process of elimination.

I've played Primetime and Tailback. No issues. Other games I've played about 15% of the time its laggy. When I'm at home the connection is particularly good too.

Realist, did you not think both of our games were slow as hell, response-wise? I thought they felt like we were playing in quicksand. Not making excuses for my beatings I took, ha ha! I get beat just as bad with a smooth connection as well.

Why don't you two guys read my post and post the far more important PINGTEST reading of your Internet connection? It should probably be fine but it is the one that actually matters for online gaming. It doesn't really matter what someone's Internet connection is so long as the upstream is 768k or higher and stable (low ping, jitter and packet loss). All of those crazy upstream and download speeds are just like using a shotgun to kill flies.

So you have the 12Mx1.5M U-verse vDSL connection with U-verse. I bet you would probably get an "A" from pingtest if you re-ran the test and it tested packet loss. Packet loss and jitter are the two biggest issues with a stable online gaming connection.

Oddly, the grade of "D" on the speedtest doesn't really mean anything to online gaming. They give that grade based on comparing your Internet connection speed to that of the average residential Internet connection in the US. The thing I would be most concerned about would be your ping. Did you have any other downloads going when you ran that test? Odd that the packet loss metric wouldn't complete on your connection. I'd reboot my router and try it again. This time use a couple of different servers to see if your ping is really hovering around ~70ms or if it was isolated to an individual server.

Yes, it could very much impact the numbers. Re-run after you finish your download and more importantly run the pingtest and post the results.

EA will never get it right with online play.

That is a very solid connection for online gaming. Does your apartment complex have a shared fiber node or something? 10ms pings are hella good.

Run pingtest and post the results. A little jitter can have a big impact on gaming.

Here's mine for the record-

You guys that can't get a packet loss reading need to install Java for your computer. There is a link showing on the pingtest.net page that detects you don't have Java installed and gives you the link.
