I do think the Denver defense is a good defense, and will benefit from the same type of TOP they benefited under with Tebow, because Manning has proved to be the best in the business at masking soft defenses by extending drives, something he did for a decade in Indy.

This is confusing. You think Denver is a good defense, and believe they will benefit from the same type of TOP that they had with Tebow...when they were the 20th ranked defense. Then, you talk about Manning's ability to mask soft defenses. So is Denver's defense soft or good?

Your best skill players not named Bowe are all coming back from injuries that were catastrophic and it's only an assumption at this point to say they will be 100% of what they were before the injuries.

I's only an assumption that they won't be back 100% as well. It's 2012, glen. Let's not act like KC's guys are all going to be like Robert Edwards.

Moeaki, Charles and Berry will all be coming back from torn ACLs... It's pretty widely known that the ACL is a two-year recovery process.

If all three come back and are the same exact guys they were in 2010 then I'm going to change my primary physician to whomever is the Chiefs head trainer because that guy is a freaking miracle worker.

It's more like one year, especially for the level of athlete we're talking about here. It also helps that they're all young.

I don't know who takes 2 years to recover from an ACL anymore.

To me, that isn't a sign of a good defense.

The sign of a good defense should be playing well despite what the offense is doing...like KC did with the bums they trotted out at QB.

Anytime you can extend drives and let your defense rest on the sidelines, it is a good thing. The point is Manning most likely barring some weird alternate reality won't have too many 3 and outs like Tebow or Orton, and then which will lead to Denver's defense resting more and being able to hold teams better. They did a good job in terms of points once Tebow took over with the exception of a few games(NE, Minn, Det)

You dont always have to score in 2 minutes. Its more like a marathon not a sprint. Longer drives for your offense means your defense rests and the other defense is on the field longer and could have better chances late in the game when the other defense is tired

I would also assume much of that is back loaded but I can't say for certain.

I believe it is front loaded, as to get the most value while Manning is still productive. ESPN radio said $56 million would be guaranteed the first 3 years.

They really need to bring in some of Manning's teammates...those teammates just so happen to FIT with what the Broncos need.

I think Jeff Saturday is the most important. He knows Manning's calls and cadences and will be fundamental to getting that offensive line, which is young, and looking pretty good, but could use a center (JD Walton is "ok") and fits right in. I think they could use a first round pick on a player like David DeCastro to shore up the rest of the offensive line because protecting Manning should be Denver's #1 priority.

Also out there, Dallas Clark, a much needed position player at TE. Also Jacob Tamme. Daniel Fells and Virgil Green are very upgradable players. Clark and Tamme do that in an instant.

The Broncos could use depth at running back and a back like Addai could come in and be a "third" running back option in Denver behind McGahee and a rookie speed back (maybe a Lamar Miller?). Knows the blocking schemes and could be valuable in getting the rest of the backs up to par.

By signing the Colts castaways, they become more of a Super Bowl contender because they A) fill needs and B) make a seamless transition to a Manning offense.

- I think they are planning on bringing in Saturday, Stokley(rather not, hes old for a wr), and Clark(would rather have Jacob Tamme, younger version of Clark). I think they could draft a rb in the 2nd rnd who could take over for mcgahee.

Didn't realize until yesterday but Fells(Pats) and Rosario(Chargers) are gone. So they will definitely need a TE, especially with Green on a 4 game suspension.

Denver went from suck for Luck to a deep playoff run with Tebow, who as we all know is the worst QB to ever live (eye roll). Manning makes any team an instant SB contender, so this should be easy. Assuming health, they are my SB favorite in the AFC.

Not the favorite yet, I still think they'll need more help especially at RB.

Def the AFC West favorite and a playoff team.

Very fair contract, with the front loaded money, and the ability for Denver to void the entire deal if Manning has more neck issues.

Give Manning credit here, he could have held these teams over a barrel, but he was very fair. This is a guy who clearly has a drive to win. This wasn't about recouping lost money.

Only problem with signing Addai/Clark/Saturday is the injuries and age of the players.

Clark was getting injured in Manning's last healthy year and continued to get hurt last year and seemingly struggled to even get open when he was. (I think Tamme may be a better option if you want somebody who Manning trusts)

Addai has been picking up injuries since his rookie year. He's an underrated RB and Manning loves him but I think Denver would find it hard to trust that he'll be available for an entire season.

Saturday's performance has been dropping year in year out but at least he has managed to stay mostly healthy and Manning can trust him. I think he'd still be a decent option.

He'd be an upgrade over Fells and Green. He isn't a top TE anymore, not by a long shot. BUT, you can never rule out a little career renaissance with a move to Denver and having Peyton throwing him the ball again.

I think Reggie Wayne would have been a nice get too, but Wayne stayed in Indy. Decker and BeyBey Thomas are fine players, but I get the sense they need more options in the passing game.

And then we signed Peyton Manning... that changes things.

It changes the Broncos QB situation, but Tebow being the best option really wasn’t the argument you had been making about Tebow. Your arguments for Tebow were that he was a good QB, because he won games.

Do you still think Tebow is a good QB? I guess I should ask that a different way. Once Tebow is traded and not wearing a Broncos jersey do you think Tebow is a good QB?

And as far as I'm concerned it's no one's business but mine to decide how I will enjoy them.

Not sure why people are so baffled that Manning chose Denver. The Super Bowl path is much easier through the AFC where you don't have to deal with great teams like GB, SF, NO, and pretty good teams like the Giants, Detroit, Philly, Atlanta, etc.

Denver has a good defense, and decent enough WR's that are going to immediately look like world beaters playing with Manning, who makes every Terrence Wilkins and Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie and Blair White that he plays with much better than they really are.

Yeah, I think with the combination of Manning coming off neck surgery and trying to build chemistry with new teammates, I could see Denver getting off to a slower start than many expect.

I don't even think the division is going to be an easy road for Denver.

Rivers was the best QB in the division BY FAR the last 2 years, and the division went to the teams led by Cassel and Tebow.
