I see this as a two way street. Yes, the kids sign an agreement that lays out a number of stipulations that need to be followed in order to be eligible as a college athlete. But the school also needs to be held accountable for the things that can/will go wrong when going into a business agreement with a 17/18 year old kid.

Now, I think the simple solution is to offer football only scholarships. if dudes really dont want the education, why shove it down their throat? if a guy is only there to play football, dont give him a scholarship, just let him play football and let him make his own money. Probably the same % of baseball players in the minor leagues that never make it to the big leagues, but at least they got paid for playing baseball right out of high school.

The fact that it wouldnt be nearly as successful as NCAA football/basketball. If you had a team called the Texas Stallions with the same players currently on the Texas Longhorns, they wouldnt have anywhere near the fans UT does & not generate anywhere near the same amount of money.
