At least with a written review a person has to justify their opinion, for good or ill. A number is just there so that people can be "ZOMG!1 4/5!!!??? THAT GAYME NEEDZ A 5/5!!!!11111" The problem is no one really reads reviews.

I actually agreed to all of this. Which is why next time I do a review I changed it up a bit.

So I start the game out at level 28. Jesus.

Anyway, so far, so intense. This game has SO much more action than the last one, especially early on...

 

I just left the Turian planet with my boy Garrus. The firefight on that moon is pretty crazy.

My only beef so far is that I had to reconstruct my Shepard's face...the game wouldn't import my old face. He looks sort of the same, just with plastic surgery and dental implants.

After playing last night and preparing to play today, Mass Effect 3 walks a fine line between Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Some OMG moments just a few hours in.

Lip Syncing sucks but it doesn't take away from the overall experience. Occasional freezes during scenes but again those are resolved quickly and keep it moving.

As i get further in i'll tell you how much more i like it cause it feels like this game is gonna be epic.

WHAT? why level 28? i know u imported, but dam, i didnt think they would give u that much of bump. did you get all those skill points to use right away then too?

did the games difficulty adjust at the start to your very high level? or was it super easy?

The cap is level 60 this time, but that is still kind of crazy (albeit, I have no idea of the context as I've yet to get off work to go home and play it/import).

I heard that the facial import thing is absolute dogshit/broken. Is it just because they seem to be prettying them up a bit? Thankfully for me, I prefer the standard models in the previous games so never really worried with it. User created ones always looked a little wonky to me (and seemed to have more issues with helmets and shit).

Yeah because I will never forget the like, 4 playthroughs it took to get to it. The length between levels spiked INSANELY in that.

Don't know if the same can be said here. Almost half of the level cap as a bonus seems just crazy, but it could very well plateau towards 60.

I can't remember if you could hit 30 in 1 playthrough for 2 if you imported? I know that I won't hit it in my PS3 playthrough without those import bonuses.

I'm not sure if you can hit level 30 in ME2 without the DLC, but I didn't have much of a problem getting there on the PS3 version on my first playthrough. :dunno:

I'll also say that it was nice seeing my abilities still in place when I imported my character to ME3 with an additional 21 SP to spend.

I was a 28-30 at the end of ME2. I guess it just brings you right in. You might say, "Holy shit, you're overpowered" but you're really not. You bring in skills that you've learned over the course of 2 games, and, IMO, that is fucking brilliant. I hate games that nerf you right off the bat. I had 53 skill points to distribute.

The difficulty was ramped up to where I am. The part I played earlier was pretty tough, even with Liara slinging singularities everywhere.

One other thing...the Kinect stuff is pretty awesome.

Hate the wheel to tell people what to do? Point at an enemy and say, "Liara, singularity" or "_______, Concussive shot"

About to die? "First aid"

I'm loving running into a room, hiding, and warping the FUCK out of dudes, just by looking at them. Pretty cool stuff, IMO.

In ME1 I ended my first playthrough at LVL 54. I ended my NG+ at 58. Ridiculous amount of XP required per level once you hit LVL 55.

As for ME2, I reached LVL 30 with all of the DLC in my first playthrough.

so when u say you bring over skills from the first 2 games....hows that work? what did you play as in the first 2 games and how did that translate into skills for this game?

i didnt know about this and that sounds pretty sweet. I played as a soldier in ME1 and an Adept in ME2....so i am curious how that would effect my guy in ME3
