So far, the story in this has been fucking tits. It moves quickly and there is less dialogue options in scenes, and while at first that bothered me, I started to realize how silly that is. Granted, I'm about 3 hours in and I'm hoping there are more Paragon Renegade moments (only had 1 so far).

The sheer amount of writing in this game is a bit staggering, and this is from someone who thought the codex itself was staggering before. It's fucking great. The war assets stuff is just a great, great concept so far.

All of the positive being said though, fuck me the Chobot "character" so far is fucking TERRIBLE. Awful voice acting, paper thin reason for being there...screams EA.

it would be like watching the return of the jedi without seeing the 1st 2 movies. i dont know if they included any kind of backstory comic like they did with mE2 on the ps3 last year. i would assume they did or at least allowed u to make some choices.

u can pick them both up used really cheap. But me1 is only available on 360 and PC

Can someone give me a rundown of the basis of the series? I'm looking to get into a few single player series like Uncharted, Assassins Creed, and Fallout. Fallout is the only one I wont start from the first game, would start with 3. I'm reading you can import youre ME character through each game or something, which sounds really cool, and has a morality like theme though out, making decisions.

Mass Effect 1: You are a soldier in the Human Alliance that is called to a planet to check out an artifact. While there, you are attacked by a huge freaking ship and a rogue agent, who ends up being possessed. Eventually, you are promoted to a Spectre (Space SEAL basically) and discover that every 50,000 years a race of sentient ships called the Reapers extinguishes all life in the galaxy.

After lots of side missions, there is a huge battle where you destroy the Reaper but discover they are coming. Your warnings go unheeded...

Mass Effect 2: You die, then you are rebuilt by Martin Sheen with robot eyes; who is the head of a company that promotes "human welfare" throughout the galaxy. Humans are being systematically erased from planets around the galaxy. After some investigation, you discover a race of beings called the Collectors is harvesting humans for the Reapers. You collect your team of dudes and go on a suicide run to the galactic core, where the collectors are helping the Reapers build a new type of Reaper. You blow it up (or don't) and Martin Sheen gets angry (or happy).

Mass Effect 3 (so far): The Reapers are here, there...everywhere. Earth is being wiped clean, as are the home planets of so many other races throughout the galaxy. There are tits and ass, intravenous drug use and lots and lots of cursing.

I could of sworn that I chose to destroy the base, but it's been so long since I finished it

I looked at both of my ME2 saves last night, and my decisions to keep/destroy the Collector base were imported properly. :dunno:
